That reminded me. My high school was in a dual meet with a really bad girl's team. In the 1500 we had 4 girls and they had about 4 or 5. Our top 3 were "jogging" through in the and our 4th girl, running all out was 300 meters behind. Her father wouldn't give up that she wasn't a good runner (like 6:30 for 1500). He yells out for her to "Close the gap!"
Someone yells "The gap is a canyon!"
First 400 meters of a saturday invitaional, i heard a guy behind me screaming, "f*** f***ing shit!!! I forgot to bring my lunch!!!" i laughed for the next 300 meters
During conferences with about 600 to go a coach told a kid next to me to drop his f'in arms he is a pu55y and catch the kenyan for all conference. Our coach didn't really say anything his jaw just dropped

At a track meet my teammates were all yelling to me “Go Rudd” – my last name. The girl next to me at the finish congratulated me and said, “Oh is that your name?? I kept thinking they were saying “Go Run” and I’m like yeah, we are”.
My teammate in high school's nickname was Rooster. He had a good race and the next day my coach came up to him in the halls saying "Someone wants to recruit you" - he got so excited since no colleges sent him anything. My coach told him "Tyson" . it took him a while (the chicken brand)
I was running my college alumni cross country meet at 50 years old. I wasn't very fit but was putting in a good effort. Meanwhile, 4-5 recent (young) alumni running together were obviously taking it easy. But they still put in a little effort at the end to pass me just before the finish. My former coach was standing at the finish line and yells "Congratulations, you just beat a guy old enough to be your dad" He gets a rip on the young guys and reminds the old guy exactly how old he is, all with one line. I was running a track race back in 8th grade, and some person in the crowd yells what's going on today, why are there so many people at the track today and if he took the chance to look across the track he would have seen the large sign that said Track and Field junior olympics regional.
Well I don't know how funny this is but we use to sit at the track side and cheer on the Special kid on the team and when ever some one lapped him, or passed him we would yell "You just past a retard, that must make you feel good, when you go to a home less shelter do you also brag about your house"

Since someone else had a non-running entry I'll post this. On one of the college football games two weeks ago, one of the announcers response to a DB getting run over by an offensive player on the goal line was classic (and since I can't remember the players names I'm obviously vamping): Mark Mays just got a whole mouthful of Lou Holtz there.
I come from a long line of Hockey players and was the 1st not to skate thus became the "runner". After 3 years, Dad finally came to the conference meet. It was a perfect fall morning 50 degrees, no wind. It's a tight race and I'm with the lead guys with about half mile to go. All of a sudden we hear DAD yelling " Check'em into the boards"....then he starts running next to us and is yelling, "elbow 'em....hip check'em...pull his stick away".
After the race, I’m talking with the other schools guys about what college we're gonna run for next fall. They asked me who was the idiot yelling at us with a half to go? I said" no idea".....up walks DAD and starts asking why I could “take’em” out…..me and the other school guys start laughing.
I had to explain to DAD that running is a very competitive...but afterwards.... we're all pretty good friends even.

Pretty much anything people yell is ridiculous. After being removed from the whole scene for a few years, it's commical to go back and just watch the screaming spectators.
