Could you take a 200 lb chimpanzee in a fight?

Seems like the best bet is to let him latch on to an appendage, then drag him into the water and watch him drown.

You made me thinking: Is the single best weapon against a possibly a rope?

only a world class grappler could win vs a chimp and even then it would be about 50 50

That is one of the funniest videos that I have seen in a long time, but it had the potential to end very badly. An anthropology professor told my class once that any primate larger than a house cat has the ability to kill an average human.

There is no scenario where a human beats a chimpanzee in combat. None.

Unarmed, a man has no chance. Even if it's two men, no way, three men, still no way, four men- maybe but they'd get the hell bitten and scratched out of them and their only chance would be to sacrifice an arm or two. The chimp has a deadly bite, incredible strength, thick skin & ar much more agile than a man.

Chimps will literally tear you apart. You have no idea of the speed and ferocity with which they attack. Even a Brock Lesner or a Connor McGregor would be no match for an adult chimp. The first thing that a chimp goes for is your crotch with their mouth. Game over. A chimp will rip your arms off, tear the skin off your face, scratch your eyes out, tear your windpipe from your neck, yank out your fingers from your hand. It won't feel your puny punches, trust me. The speed and ferocity will terrify you and render you helpless. You will instantly go into shock as the chimp rips out your privates and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.

Couldn't take on the chimp, but I would certainly fling poo at it.

Brock Lesnar and Connor Macgregor shouldnt be in the same sentence, if the subject is fighting a large chimp. Brock would have many of the advantages a chimp has over a person, maybe less pull strength but more push strength in some positions, Combined with the experience of gaining favorable Leverage. Brock in his prime, like when he weathered an assault from Shane Carwin to win a losing battle, he might win. Wanderlie the axe murderer Silva, Fedor Emelianeko, some high level extremely brutal and the right combination of skilled and extremely strong cage fighter in his prime might beat a Chimp, because humans have more endurance. But he'd have to have the requisite strength first, which not many do. Macgregor is small and doesnt have great endurance, credibility lost to those saying the chimp will always win. You want the chimp to win. Sure its not a good bet for the person, but there are some amazing fighters and its not like a 200 lb chimp isnt an overfed chimp, hes not twice as powerful as a 100 lb chimp or anything.

An animal doesn’t fight like a human, for one thing. A chimp does not employ defensive maneuvers to protect itself, it is always in attack mode. Lesner would have no defense against that style of fighting the chimp would present, particularly the fact that a chimp relies heavily on biting crotches and faces. Once a chimp locks its jaws on a human body part, it isn't letting go without causing major damage.

Lesnar could be blinded, his eyes bitten out, his nose gone, lips torn away and critically injured so quickly, he would have little opportunity to use any offensive skills and bleed out to death. The best he could hope to do would be preemptively strike a chimp by quickly grabbing an arm and swinging, try to bash the chimp against a tree or a wall, hoping to knock it out. No chance of that succeeding.

This discussion is way better than any Rupp thread.

On further review, I doubt there is a man on Earth capable of slamming any 200 lb mammal by a limb against a wall with enough force to hurt it, let alone swing it.

The chimp wins.
