Is Tegenkamp Blood Doping?

So, if this is all just no big deal, why does the WADA have concerns? Why do rational researchers say that there is obvious potential for abuse? If all of this is already there, (in his body) - why does it have to be sucked out, "conditioned" then reinjected?This is shady at best.

Exactly, if runners start using questionable methods to recover from injuries then where does it stop? Matt has a knee injury, when does taking out blood, reconditioning it and then injecting it back in become the reasonable solution?

I guess because WADA has not quite banned this type of blood manipulation YET that it is the right thing to use this type of outrageous method to heal an injury at this time, are there no other non gray and absolutely legal way to help the healing process?

Yes, it's called rest, time-off from running, and a possible loss of fitness.

I say yes, because staying injury free is one of the main components of success. By artificially speeding up the healing process, you are directly increasing your future level of success.

That is why the non-performance enhancing logic does not work. Every drug cheat still has to work hard and put in the grueling miles and interval sessions, so this logic could justify almost all use of foreign substances.

Yes EPO has the most direct affect on aerobic performance, but steriods and HGH speed the healing process, which indirectly leads to better performances.

The reason why the HGH and steroid analogies are being thrown around is because they fit.

I got stim treatment today. That's going to speed up my recovery so it should be illegal to, or will be.

Teg picks up and moves to Portland to train with a questionably coached group at Nike, now he is receiving questionable medical procedures, where does it end?

How long till certain medical conditions start creeping up that justify taking certain medications that would otherwise be banned?

so we got teg moving to portland under the shadow of alberto - suddenly the only thing that can help his injury is a questionable medical treatment.

so we got alberto coaching a group, 2 have thyroid conditions that need medical intervention, and one has asthma which also requires medical treatment. then we gots the team doc, who is a blood doctor, who helped write the rules for drug testing and who was a hired gun for tyler hamilton and his parasitic twin defense.

There have been some stupid statements on this thread but this one takes the cake. Do you really think that all bike races have predetermined winners and even all of the things that happen in the race are predetermined? Do you think that the riders are not actually working hard (equivalent to wrestlers not really being hit and hurt)?
