I do not see how someone would be willing to spend over $20,000 a year to go VI! Doesn't seem like a great idea to spend that much on a school where 60% of the accepted students can't break 500 on either part of the SAT.

A tiny school with poor academic standards isn't going to be able to get lots of alumni dough. If I was there, I would be looking to get out fast. This school is not going to exist for very long and I don't see how it should.

Just donated. Despite what your personal beliefs might be on Scott or the Track program or the school, these athletes should not be denied a chance to compete considering the sacrifice and hard work required to make it to a national championship (at any level). These guys are probably all transfering. Their immediate futures are in disarray as their academic and athletic aspirations are probably on hold. If you can afford to give, make a donation (however small) to make a lasting difference for these athletes that have busted their butts and are now denied the opportunity to compete.

Very good question. Very pricey to go to such a school. Isn't that what JMU is for? Cheap in-state tuition for dummies?
Went to the donation site. Doesn't look good at this point. In addition, all funds are going to the AD. I would think, based on what the VIC people are saying, that noone at VIC is trustworthy. How do you know you are going to get your money if it is going to the AD? With the financial situation the way it is, I would expect the $20,000 you are supposed to raise will go to help pay a salary or something else the school views as important.
The money should not go to the AD. Heather Conley is not trustworthy and nor is Dr. Puglisi. I'll say it to their faces. If they don't like it, let's see how things shake out if the IRS ever got their meathooks into them.

Actually they have been selling off part of their equestrian stable property. Talk to Shayla if you want to know about the stablehands they hired and then told them they were unpaid volunteers.

I think VIC's administration is all about good old boy, corn fed racists. Your team was way too diverse and they could not have them darkies succeeding on their hick campus.
I hope you all sent an e-mail to the admin. about these terrible actions.
This is terrible and it seems there is a growing bandwagon of colleges elimintating key athletic programs. We need to fight this, it's ruining not only many aspects of the college experience, but decreasing opportunities for many runners to continue in their endeavors.
PS - Title IX is evil, but you all knew that already.
