Well often in the 800m you can get that if you chase down the rabbit and frontrun. Or you see how Mark English ran to win the first DL. Since Arop did the former it shows the contrast. Burgin similarly did it in Rabat.

dos Santos really tried to get out hard there and paid for it with the wind in his face coming home. Still, he and the other Big Three guys are a level ahead of the rest and you saw that today.

And even Kibiwot who has always been more like Rooks as in not a time trialer, grinder, gritty etc still held on for 3rd despite recent so-so form. He’s the guy Rooks beat for silver.
