Are we going to have any jobs open up between now and the end of the summer?what’s the word?
There will be a lot! Just need to be patient. 90% of jobs come open and are posted after conference championships and or after nationals. June and July you will see many!

Coming out of the pandemic there are a lot less coaches jumping around for jobs. A lot of coaches either have gotten out of the game already, retired, new career path, etc or they've settled on the security of staying in their current position.
I don't anticipate many major jobs opening up. As a mid-major coach, I've grown pretty happy with the support I have here and the fact that I likely am not getting fired any time soon.

Wondering with the older generation getting out or retire...what up and coming coaches would be deserving to run their own program?
Razorback men’s head coach Doug Case has announced the addition of Arkansas alum Brandon Battle to the coaching staff as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.
Posting names on here to answer your question typically is followed with scrutiny. Or it’ll be claimed that these coaches are naming themselves. I know quite a few at different division who have don’t well with little. No national qualifiers or anything like that but you’re not gonna get that with developing less talented runners. Bug improvements in PRs and team placement is where you see these coaches experience shine through.
I thought about that as I asked, I figured we would see a coach post his own name, but also figured we might see a post drop a few names and let others decide if they agree, just this year I’ve seen a few NAIA and D3 coaches do well with very little in terms of performance and development
If placing at conference mattered for most of these schools we would see a lot of openings, Michigan State for example. Honestly the BIG10 should be better at track than what it is but most of them hire an alum and let their program rot for 15 years until the alum gets tired of losing and retires, then they make a change, and even then most likely don’t hire someone who can do something. Lot of D2 teams in the region would beat over 75% of the BIG10 teams in conference placing if they ever changed
