What I found interesting is that 18-59 people just don’t die (131K out of 28,700K died) (4 year mortality). I must be reading this wrong.
After 4 years, only 9K out of 8,331K of the age 18-29 (vax and no vax) died (all causes). That’s only 0.11%. Four years is a long time. 2/3 of these deaths are external causes (accidents, poisoning, suicide…). Take those out and you are left with only 3K to analyze (all causes).
It doesn't prevent heart problems, it actually increases your risk slightly in that department. But the disease the vaccine prevents (covid) carries with it a much larger risk of developing heart problems. Therefore getting vaccinated when covid was rampant can decrease your risk of heart issues.

Covid vax does not prevent infection. If Covid infection increases the risk of heart problems, then the vax would add an extra layer of increased risk.

No, it doesn’t. -The mask was set to simulate 7000m altitude. And according to VG one doesn’t even know for sure if Bakken did this himself, or if the settings were involuntarily changed in the chaos that came from trying to rescue him…

I don’t know about any relation to Marius Bakken - but likely not father/son/brother given 20 years age difference, and Sivert was born and lived in Lillehammer, whereas Marius’ two cities are Sandefjord and Kristiansand. Bakken is neither a rare name, probably somewhat alike to the English Hill (the meaning is also quite the same)….

I think Norway is rare in actually paying their superstar biathletes very good money (do Norwegians actually spend hours watching biathlon?) and I heard some of them are even millionaire status which begs the question how does Norway afford to pay them so much but I'm guessing sponsorship comes into it and the only other countries which can complete a little bit with this are possibly France and Italy and I remember in France the top biathlete for a long time was very famous but his name escapes my mind right now - sorry. He had so many sponsorship deals and television advertisements in his name because I think he was Olympic champion.
Once again RIP for Bakken, and very sad for his family and friends. Hopefully the Norwegian winter federation will now pay attention to these training tools (oxygen masks, etc) and hopefully take steps to control them for their future athletes.

a seat belt saves people from many many many injuries and deaths -- such as being thrown through the windshield and killed -- in regular and nasty accidents.
once in a while the belt breaks someone's ribs, sternum, or collarbone; cuts into the abdomen; ruptures a blood vessel; or the like.
only a f*cking idiot is like i am not wearing a seat belt because in a freak accident one cut into my buddy's belly, or broke his collarbone.
because even a f*cking idiot knows that's better than being dead on the street from blunt force injuries after being thrown through the windshield. we compare things. one outcome is riskier than the other.
