Merber is an investor in Citius and would gain financially if Citius increased it's revenue and it's audience.
Where is Merber getting his "investor" money? His lack of a career does not otherwise give him the trajectory to attain levels of a true investor.
Startup companies often pay people in shares instead of cash because they don't have the cashflow early on.
They probably told Merber they'd give him something like 5% of the company if he starting writing his newsletter for Citius and doing podcasts and broadcasting, etc.
So LetsRun will never be sponsored by LMNT in a can? Good to know! For the record, of all of the drinks out there--LMNT, Skratch, Precision Hydration, Nuun, etc, my favorite is Gatorade!
I will try to find the clip again. It was a solo Rojo pod or segment, so not surprising Jon wouldn't remember it.
One thing I'd also like to mention is that it seems like you treat disclosure as a get out of jail free card—i.e. as long as I disclose any financial incentives, I'm free to say anything without consequence (after all, you know I'm being paid to say this!). Well, paid advertising works, so when you shill a crappy product (even after disclosing that you are being paid to shill it) some people will go and buy that product.
There are many different types of products and promotions . Some I have a personal relationship with and some I don’t .
I never have claimed to have used AG1 . I have a good friend who has used it and liked it. Rojo hasn’t claimed to have used it either.
I am impressed with how much money they put towards research. The audience can decide if it’s worth it but I don’t have a problem with a reputable company paying me to say talking points about their product. It is clearly an ad.
YOU think is crappy. I have no idea as I haven’t used it. But a friend uses it(chris Lear) and now that I think about it another friend I know his wife used to work for them and they both use it. He also told me he uses their sleep product.
without having used the product my only concern would be whether it’s worth the cost . That is my only thought process when I I was evaluating it . But that’s how I think
AG1 didn't send you a sample of their recycled food waste drink powder to try? I mean it is safe and has a lot of nutrients. But before you read an ad again, you really ought to drink it just to see why people think it sucks so much. The taste of it is, and I'm putting this in SF terms since you live in SF, something akin to Liquid Tenderloin smell. If you can get over the taste, it's great. But it's one of the worst tasting beverages in the world. Try it and let us know how you think it tastes.

I love LMNT. Can version wouldn’t great.
some people think it’s too salty but then just use more water.
as for AG1’s taste: it’s selling point isn’t the taste , but they did just come out with new flavors.
Your post shows , different drinks for different people. Some want more electrolytes, some want stuff for their gut, some want Gatorade. That’s why I’ve got no problem with brands advertising their products.
Genuinely baffling GST spent $270K for a couple of posts from a niche running social media account/website. They probably could have offered 1/10th of that and still gotten Citius to do it. Ends up looking like Kyle Merber is just shoveling money to his buddies.
Does anything else about GST’s financial dealings suggest fiscal restraint or sound judgement to you?

LMNT's big new push is canned drinks. They seem to be positioning their canned stuff to be a rival of Red Bull/Monster from the design of the can.
