You really think that the United States invented slavery?
That isn't what I said, meat-brain. The institution of slavery in the US was essentially the instrument of dominant white culture over blacks. To whom did the Emancipation Proclamation apply and then the 13th Amendment?
The Emancipation Proclamation only applied to the Confederate states -which Lincoln did not control.
It did not apply to any border states which remained loyal to the Union, nor did it apply to Union States (slavery existed in them too, but was not widespread).
Hence, the EP did not free a single slave.
The 13th Amendment abolished slavery within the U.S. - and ratification was a precondition for readmittance of the Confederate states to the Union.
It applied to all slaves - and instances of slavery.
Thus, it covered white slaves and black slaves owned by blacks.
There is no mention of race or "dominance" by one race over another to be found in the 13th Amendment.
In fact, slavery is not mentioned in the text, but involuntary servitude.
The amendment allows for it as punishment for crimes in which one has been duly convicted, and since then many whites have been subject to involuntary servitude as justice involved individuals.

Right wing garbage. The Proclamation was intended to free slaves; it said by law the slaves in the Confederate States were now free, which was in defiance of the practice in the Confederacy. That was its point. The war would need to be won to ensure it could be enforced. The 13th Amendment ended the practice constitutionally once and for all. Slavery was imposed by whites over blacks. Your reading of history is both ignorant and a deliberate lie. You right wingers continue to try to rewrite history to conform to your repellent racist agenda.
Thousands of free black slaves also voluntarily joined the confederate army and fought the North. We don't hear about this because it doesn't fit the narrative...
In spite of the Confederacy’s desire to preserve slavery, a number of African Americans actually supported the Confederates during the U.S. Civil War. Here, Jeb Smith looks at a wide range of ways that African Americans suppo...
The Cherokee Freedmen are individuals, formerly enslaved in the Cherokee Nation and freed in 1863, and their descendants. They have African ancestry, and many also have Cherokee ancestry. Today, descendants of the Cherokee Fr...

Sir, what I wrote is taught in every American history course - regardless of the political affiluation of the school district's constituents - because it is the truth.
A reading of the contemporary source material on the subject will corroborate my summary.
Since I am subject matter qualified to teach secondary level American history and you are not, it would behoove to learn rather than politicize.
Since Armstronglivs only consumes left wing media, I will post the following article which corroborates what I wrote above.
"Freedom only applied to those slaves in states that had seceded. It did not apply to border states, or specific regions in Union control: about 750,000 slaves. The 13th Amendment later abolished slavery."
by Alicia W. Stewart, CNN (CNN) — When Hannah Johnson wrote President Lincoln in the summer of 1863, she expressed the concerns of any mother with a son fighting a war. But she had a special request: “I am a colored woman and...

I suppose Armstronglivs will now call CNN "right-wing propaganda".
The Proclamation applied to slaves everywhere in the US. You simply confuse that the Confederacy needed to be defeated to give it effect in those states. The 13th Amendment was intended to ensure their freedom was preserved by the Constitution.

Politicize is all you are doing. The right wing also teach history in the US - history as they prefer it.

Freed African Americans helped ensure the Union won. That is historical fact. You won't find that many African Americans supported the institution that enslaved them - except in the minds of the right wing.
