What does being a fan boy have to do with the facts? If you say they told you otherwise, either you're lying or they are. Wouldn't surprise me if it's both. Did you bother listening to the podcasts? Ali on the Run with Amanda Vestri? She said distinctly that she's been "working with Roche for over a month before NY." Front Ridge Elite with Annmarie Tuxbury. Tuxbury said that Pete told her "after 2024 trials he could no longer support her. So she "went back to working full time and asked Pete if it was still OK to do some training with them." I would tend to believe what they say over what you think.
So, I'm just a fanboy?
This is your original statement - "Tuxbury announced on a recent podcast that she was actually dropped by ZAP over a year ago." Now you're changing it to "could no longer support her."
Did she get her funding cut? Yes. But that doesn't mean she was dropped. She is still listed on their roster. She races in a ZAP uniform. ZAP paid for her to go to Twin Cities and some other races this fall. She works out with ZAP. And Pete and Zika refer to her as a ZAP athlete. In other words, she is still with ZAP.
ZAP has had different funding levels for the athletes since it was started. Many of them had to work a part-time job in order to survive. One athlete getting less money than another doesn't mean one was a ZAP athlete and the other wasn't. It just means they were paid differently. Does everybody where you work get paid the same?
Yes, I am a ZAP fanboy. I was also a workout rabbit for the ZAP women 20 years ago and I've been a board member for 10 years. I've been friends with Pete and Zika for 20 years and I run with them several times a week.
I don't care what you heard on a podcast. The reality is that Ann Marie is a member of the ZAP team until December 31, when ZAP officially ends.
Well first of all, you should probably know her name. Secondly, what you're saying actually backs up exactly what I am saying. They dropped her support 1 year into a three year contract. No, where I work people don't get paid the same. But where I work, if a guy is making $36,000 dollars a year for a menial job and they tell him they'll still let him keep working there for free, I'd say the dropped him and he'd be nuts to stay. And they'd be nuts to not say he was still working there. Again, you didn't listen to either podcast. The athletes themselves made these pronouncements. "Dropped" and "lost her support" sound the same to most of us. Perhaps not to fan boys.
We need more Zap fitness not less. Our sport has lost its way. If Hansons ends I will quit paying attention to our sport completely. Running is authentic and a grass roots sport that gets boring when we try to become too professional. Blue collar with the mindset of the harder you work the greater the results is why most of us fell in love with running.

Blowing Rock Master, are you the ZAP guy that got caught cheating at the Richmond marathon a couple of years ago?

OK, you obviously know more from listening to a podcast then I know from actually knowing the people involved. I'll make sure to tell Ann Marie (that's how her name is spelled on the roster) that she hasn't been running for ZAP for the last year and that she should give back all the money they gave her.

I'm not aware of any ZAP athletes ever running the Richmond Marathon, though several have run the 5-miler. I was never a ZAP athlete - way too slow. What is the cheating you are talking about?
I was part of a group that was asked to look at accusations of cheating by a ZAP athlete/coach who won the masters division at Richmond in either 2023 or 2024. The protest was filed by other Masters athletes in the event. Our group decided that due to the runners own posts where he admitted that he was paced in the later stages of the race by ZAP athletes not entered in the race and also being assisted on the course by yet another ZAP athlete, that said athlete should indeed be disqualified. We never got the follow up from the race director as to his course of action.
He is a workout rabbit for the women, like I was 20 years ago, not one of their athletes. He also has his own coaching business but doesn't coach anyone at ZAP.
But this raises a question, why is it cheating if a masters athlete gets paced but it's OK to have designated pacers (who aren't going to finish the race) for the elites?

According to the website,he “teamed up with ZAP in 2024.” As a part of the ZAP coaching service.
All pacers in races must start the race and be sanctioned by the race with time goals announced. They can not be assigned to one athlete and they certainly can’t jump in at the 20 mile mark to aid an athlete. That is a strict violation. As is having your own “handlers” pass you drinks, gels, etc. This is exactly what we found this athlete had done.

You accuse a semi-public account of cheating w/o knowing who they are. You don't remember the race. O and they weren't actually DQd. Nice.

I didn’t accuse him, other runners in the race did. I merely asked if Blowing Rock Master was the same guy. I don’t know who Blowing Rock Master is, I would guess you do. Good for you. Perhaps you’re the guy who got caught? Because Richmond did not have USATF officials or referee the decision fell on deaf ears. Did you(he) get caught cheating? Yes! Maybe count your blessings instead of further calling attention to your indiscretions?
Any word on where the Colley's are going? Schaffer? Tuxberry? Did Izewski move back to PA?
The Colleys are in Chapel Hill to be close to Tristin's family once the Colley pup arrives. Tristin just received a USATF maternity grant. Andrew is running Houston Half.
I've been told that Dan is back in Binghamton and Annmarie is planning to stay in Boone/Blowing Rock for now, though I haven't seen her since before Thanksgiving.
Other than rabbiting Houston, I'm not sure what Josh is doing.

I was hoping the Colley’s would give it one last 2028 push with Hansons. It seems like a good fit with training partners for both Andrew and Tristin. Amy Davis just had her baby as well. A good story with both women navigating pro running and starting a family. Oh well, still a big fan. Always love the “go for it” mentality that Andrew runs with.
