Just lied about the splits in his latest workout. Funnily enough they're available on Strava so it's not hard to tell haha.

The irony is that hobby joggers he'll coach have no idea of the differences between 13:31/28:00, and Jason's actual bests of 14:15/30:48. He lied about his times, but there was no need to lie. Hobby joggers will respect anyone who can run a sub 20:00/5km.
His reputation is on the line here, and it's a pity, because 3:55/8:07/14:15 are still very respectable times, and easily fast enough for coaching credibility. Lying was a mistake.
In my book, Jason should retract his lies, admit his greed in boosting his status, and move on from there.
Provided he really has embellished his times, I don't really understand the motivation because there's no way he made more money coaching anyone by suggesting he ran a bit faster than he really did. Like, why?
He said something about representing the Philippines in the marathon. If that's the case, why wasn't he at the recently concluded Southeast Asian Games last December? He did run a 65 minute half marathon in Redmond, WA in 2025.
I understand exactly why he did it.
it's just that with me, I haven't begun trying to coach yet because I haven't fully backed up my Matt Londonesque training feats in FAT or otherwise incorrigible and through documentation.
If I were to go and run an 11.1 or 11.3 FAT in March, I'd go ahead and see that as sufficient to start trying to coach athletes, and I'd be completely honest about my own journey, the things I've learned, and how I started as a gangly, slow, uncoordinated heel striker.
claiming world class Chad 13:31 is nuts, though. That's like me claiming that right now, I can run south of 11.00 FAT. It hasn't happened. There's just not enough reason to presume I can make that leap right now
Still lying about his workouts for no reason. Did a 3x3 mile on the track claiming he closed the final mile in 4:33. Splits on strava are public, that 4:33 was 0.9 miles, and his splits are generously aided by an inaccurate GPS.
Then today he ran 6x1k and a 400 and posted the following splits 2:55, 2:57, 2:56, 2:49, 2:47, 2:45, and 62. Go onto the activity, and all his 1k splits are 0.59 miles, not nearly a full 1k.
Watched one of his YT videos today and he is giving objectively terrible coaching advice the entire time. Dude needs to get a job

I heard that he's a trust fund guy, and inherited properties (which he rents out), so he's in the position that he doesn't need to work.
If this information is incorrect, I stand corrected.
He really does give odd vibes. Firstly, he said he packed everything left nothing home (CA) before heading to Flagstaff to start his new life. Then he gets kicked off the team, and comes back to CA and is living in a fully furnished house in an instant like nothing happened. But I don't see anyone else's presence in the home, except for the poor dog he scares all the time. I saw a comment on a video asking how he makes income/does he work, and he replied with an vague/obscure comment kind of deflecting the question. If you were honest, you don't need to be giving obscure answers.
Also, I might be thinking too much, but it kind of gives a weird vibe that he only/mostly hangs out with high school athletes, even though it looks like he doesn't coach/work at the school(s) anymore. I get the showing your face at a meet or so once in a while if you coached in the past, but this guy is constantly there, talking and "coaching" kids even though it seems like he no longer works at the school (if he even did work at that school in the first place). He's even hanging out with one athlete in their house and driving them around. He even makes them pace him in his workouts on a bike as if they're his minions, instead of training with people of his age.
His vocab which consists of "duuude" and "bro" is also annoying, but lesser to the extend of the former.
I don't know just my two cents.
Update: Now hiding watch splits on workouts.

Yup red flags all around. Dude is just a weirdo and seems mentally unstable.
interesting on the intel he inherited the rental properties. Seems to check out. He used to do Airbnb and make it seem like a huge hustle in his older YouTube videos. He commented to others before that he somehow had “300” properties and sold them all so he never has to work again. I’m sure that’s true, but it checks out if he indeed inherited them. He’s just a lucky spoiled kid tbh and that’s not his fault but it’s hardly impressive and he clearly doesn’t want to portray the truth with that, similar to how he lies about his running workouts/performances. Cringeworthy and embarrassing.
dude sounds like a 16 year old high schooler in all of his videos. It’s so odd that every other word from this grown man is ERMMMAGAWDDDDD.
Shocked if the Philippines actually lets him represent them in international competition. It also says a lot that he got kicked off the mckirdy team for filming without consent and making athletes uncomfortable. Not surprising given how he portrays himself on YouTube - the kid is just a cornball man. He ran a 2:20 marathon at mckirdy last month. Kinda hilarious he ran that race after the elite team disposed of him
I hope the parents of the high schoolers he is affiliated with and hangs out with are aware of him. I’d be weary at a High level. It just seems odd
So, we've established that he has blatantly lied about his workout times. My question: what's going on with the kids he's training? Ostensibly, making huge strides in practice and reaching new apexes. Their 'splits' would seem to agree. Come race day, the 'improvement' becomes negligible.
We're dealing with an insecure pathological liar whose eerie history has been delineated in this thread. There is a blatant disjunction between the supposed 'times' run in practice and in races. Honestly, I wouldn't put it past him.
Now, are the kids in on it? Hard to say. From what I've seen, he's stringently opposed to them working out with a watch on. Of course, the reasoning may appear fair, but given these inconsistencies, ulterior motives can't be ruled out.
Yeah, I agree. He seems to be making them do super impressive and hard (almost blowout) workouts, but they seem to just blow up/run so much slower on race day. Its not the kids fault, they are at an age where they are gullible to influence by people like him. But I know their threshold zones should be way way slower than whatever he's making them do. Also is he even a certified coach? Do the parents know their kids are being coached by this dude? How can they run fast, when he himself can't figure out his own training, let alone race results. Not sure if its just me, but in his videos, this dude seems to only hang out w high schoolers like 90% of the time 😭
