Seems all of the top ncaa ran poorly today. Hartman and Kennedy both faded badly in 15:14 (16 sec off PR) and Kennedy in 15:25 (15 sec off her PR). Did ncaas cook them?
Mistake, Kennedy in 15:24 (14 sec off PR).
agree many of the collegians did not have their best day. Add Bush and Dudek to that list
She was in the lead of the second pack when was way back not sure what happened
rewatched. Appleton started at the back, about 49.6 at 300, so probably 65-66 at 400 then moved up on lap 2 running about 65 and then just hit a wall at 800. That pace should not have been an issue for her.
I just go with the simplest way to work back on age. Musau and Mehary were done with high school by 2023 . Rojo had an in-the-know Ethiopian assert as much. So they probably turned 19 that year or early in 2024. They are 20-21, and since neither compete at the juniors level any more it’s OK, but just clearly the ages are off.

What's worst for Bush and Dudek is their college eligibility is done and NO pro contract yet. This was a great opportunity for both to showcase their fitness to Nike/Addidas/NB and others. Then to have those 2 races. Hope the best for both.

What do Hutchins/Hartman/Kennedy have in common? They all ran indoors then the outdoors conf finals, regionals and nationals. They all looked gased today. All 3 will probably be at USAs. Unfortunately, their XC training camps are in Aug before school starts! Where's the break for them?? (And yes I'm a worry-wort).
Yeah, I think they’re racing too much. None of them got a lot of downtime after the outdoor season. I know that Hartman, at least, is running in the USATFs. I don’t know about the others mentioned. Perhaps the best thing to do, especially with XC right around the corner, would be to take a break and not run. I can’t help but think about Abby Steiner a few years ago and how much she raced in college and post-collegiately. She is a sprinter and I know it’s different but she hasn’t been the same since and has just been racking up injuries.
I believe it's virtually impossible to run a sub-2:08 marathon or a sub-13:00 5K without the aid of performance-enhancing drugs. These times are beyond what clean athletes can achieve. The world needs to wake up and see the truth…!
