I think the 800 was the best event for her to enter in order to get experience. She wouldn't get much experience running against pros if everyone is in lanes like in the 400 and 400H. But the 800 is a hectic event with changes of pace, people getting boxed in, and other people getting stuck out in lane 2. Regardless of how fast she runs she'll learn a lot.
