It's especially bad today. I can't remember seeing less of a 5k than what they're showing.
It's ok. It's the 2nd worst event behind the 10k. They really shouldn't have races above 3k in televised big meets.

There was a world record being broken by a local during the 5k so fair enough really.
Almgren 12:44.27. New European Record!

"a local" LOL
Almgren is a beast. This is what you get being Jakob’s training partner.
As an aside, Hocker continues his post-Olympics flop. Maybe it’s all the time in the pool.

12:44.27!!!!!!
Number #20 performance ever!!! #21 with Fisher's indoor 12:44
Women's 800m next - Addy Wiley time
Was Almgren one of the guys who trained with Jakob in Sierra Nevada?

Great race by Ky Robinson. Finally cracks 13 and secures his spot at worlds for Australia
Anyone else notice Stahl running alongside Almgren with around 300m to go. That’s gotta be motivating!

I wouldn't call a 7:23 a flop.

Yes

Almgren looked very fit. I suppose the altitude training goes well.

Hocker is already cooked.
He’s looked pretty terrible (for a reigning Olympic champ) this entire outdoor season. If he’s back in peak form for worlds… it’s going to be suspicious

I can't wait to hear Hocker's excuse. Maybe WADA has caught up with the substance he was using at the OG?
He's back to his 2021 to early 2024 level, his "normal" level.

Did you not watch the Oslo DL 5000m so?

Definitely not a flop, but I had hoped that 7:23 was indicative of significant improvement at 5000. Thus far that seems not to be this case. He seems right on track at 1500 though.
