Has to be one of the slowest NCAA 10ks in awhile. Through 3k in just over 9:10

For some reason I can’t explain…
I’m sitting here watching the 10k and I see Cole Sprout, the high school phenom and promising young talent that just has not produced at the level we were expecting him to. He was essentially just as good as Nico Young in high school. Nico Young could break the world record and run 12:35 in the 5000m tomorrow and what’s Cole Sprout like a 13:30 guy?
It just pains me to see these athletes peak way too early. I don’t think Ricardo Santos is a good coach at Stanford, he just got lucky as hell to get world talents in Charles Hicks and Ky Robinson and the Young twins. None of these other athletes like Cole Sprout have really done anything noteworthy.

57 years of improvements in track technology, technique, strength and speed regiments, nutrition, and shoe quality has led us to long jumpers who are still three feet behind Bob Beamon.
The Jessie Owen’s still has the conference best after 90 years
Cole Sprout's gonna graduate with PRs of 3:56, 13:24, and 27:42, that's still a significant improvement from high school and pretty respectable career no matter how fast he was back then. Not everyone is going to turn out as good as Nico, and that's fine
not the fastest race I've ever seen, no. splits here: https://flashresults.ncaa.com/Outdoor/2025/008-1-01.htm

Don’t forget his Stanford masters degree he’s finishing up with.
Bro will live a high paying life, these fiends think running is everything.
a 68.1 through 5200m. signs of life?
So who are the current 27 ft long jumpers in NFL and NBA?
These kids usually run track in hs, many are national caliber, but none that I know of ended up leaving track for nba/NFL.
Drew Bosley is moving a little.
Can't believe he's still competing - but he's in it.
Lovely to see handsome Africans dominating the race.
yawn
Insane last 200m from Kipkurui. Shades of Chesereks first 10000m title in 2014
Kipkirui has a little bit of Ches in him.

Make the NCAA great again
It would be a disgrace if New Mexico wins this meet.
Hard not to see why so many are trying to get rid of the 10000 after a race like that.
no interview because he doesn't know english lol
Kirui tried to cut off Kipkurui so he drilled him and then unleashed on pure hate…

Get rid of the 10000m and put an outdoor DMR. If you wanna run a fast 10k, go to the roads where they allow high stack shoes
