Why are you giving this dickbag the attention he wants, wej?
Gabby posted about him. The Guardian wrote an article about it
Should we all just ignore him?
I didn’t start the discussion.
The point isn’t to give the guy attention. It is to discuss the situation . I can remove his screen name if you’d like from the title of the thread but I think he is known on track X which is only reason I included his name.
before I saw the article I saw some mention of mr100kaday today and was trying to figure out who he was.
No. Don't listen to these crybabies. You can start any kind of thread about anything you want. And it is worth discussion. Plus, mr100kaday is hilarious.
WeJo, respectfully, I disagree and think this is exactly the type of thing that this sport needs. We need people to stir the pot. We need intense feelings and bitter rivalries and good guys and bad guys.
As far as the heckling goes and whether the sport should be more like golf and tennis vs football or basketball, let's meet in the middle and say allow all the heckling in the world, but once the gun goes set, the crowd should go silent. I think of "set" as the back swing in golf or the serve in tennis.
I agree that it's weird that the guy brought up the white fiancee. That says more about him than it does about her, so he kind of owned himself on that one. But other than that, let the fans chirp.
I agree with everything, but I think that the fans should even be allowed to heckle and boo even after the race begins.
I think what you all seem to want to ignore is the blatant misogyny. It's the fact that he wanted to bring up her fiancee to get under her skin- Gabby is being stalked at airports and this interaction only makes things more intense for her. This was not just about making money for this man, this was straight up harassment.
"I’d be fine with people booing Kerr if they are Jakob fans or vice versa. Or yelling “drug cheats out” at someone busted for doping." What would the equivalent be to shout at Kerr or Jakob? Why should their fans taunt their opponent? You don't hear anyone shouting at Nuguse that he's gay to get under his skin. Because that would create intense backlash immediately- as it should. This man should've been kicked out of the meet and GST should stand up for Gabby.
OMG. If a group of fans started to shout anti-homosexual slurs to Nuguse while he's on the starting line, that would literally be the funniest thing ever. And Nuguse is so chill he wouldn't even let it get to him, so it wouldn't matter in the slightest anyway.
In Philadelphia no less. I’m a Philly guy but Philly sports fans are embarrassing with how they take pride in douching it up at games.
Yeah, but when that 6ers fan made fun of Ben Simmons a few years ago by dressing up like him in a costume that was a giant baby wearing a diaper, that was the funniest thing ever. It was after Ben was traded to the Nets and when the 6ers met the Nets in the playoffs. I'll see if I can find the video.
This makes my blood boil. How dare anyone heckle a track athlete right before their race, especially a sweetheart like Gabby Thomas. Heckling is not acceptable at a track meet.
This jerk is lucky I wasn't standing next to him when he did that.
Facts I woulda roasted ts outta him
You're probably Blood Boiling posting under another username.
Holy crap I just went to this guy's YouTube channel and he is MESSED UP. Not only does his own most recent video and footage of him heckling Gabby show that he is a bully, but he also has several other videos hating on interracial track marriages and hating on white sprinters like Coby Hilton and Lachlan Kennedy.
The worst one though is he has a long video about the kid who got stabbed and killed at a track meet, blaming the victim and spending minutes on end mocking his white family and their grief. What kind of psychopath attacks a grieving family? He celebrates the kid who stabbed him and is organizing a legal defense fund for him:
This kind of hate, putting down, and outright justification of violence is disgusting and personally I wouldn't want someone who makes this kind of content anywhere near any sporting event!
I watched a little bit, and he seems to me to be just a sensationalist to stir controversy and get views on his page. I'm reluctant to believe he even believes half of what he says in regard to the Texas murder case. As far as the heckling video goes, it's a different subject entirely and I thought he was hilarious, mostly because that kind of heckling never happens at a pro track meet.
We let fans be fans, speculate and debate — even about uncomfortable topics — because we believe free speech generally serves the sport. That doesn’t mean anything goes. We draw the line at certain types of attacks. You can disagree with where we draw the line, but we do draw it.
There’s a big difference between what happens in on here — where ideas can be challenged, debated, or ignored — and a fan standing ten feet from the starting line of a professional race heckling an athlete moments before competition.
So yes I'll defend the right of people to post things on here that athletes do not like while trying to figure out where to call the line on behavior in a different sphere.
Mr100k is free to call Gabby a choke artist on here
But I'm pretty sure I'm against people making personal attacks about her family during a silent moment at a track meet. Just as Lebron had fans kicked out of the Pacers game. Context matters.
First of all, it wasn't a silent moment, you are smart enough (barely) to know that during athlete introductions, which is when this was, the crowd is making all kinds of noise. It's only when "On your mark" when the crowd is to become silent and he was in this case. So, stop the changing of the facts to suit your narrative.
Secondly, you draw the line based on your own feelings and twisted beliefs. You are the POS that started a thread with a fake name to harass, bully and disparage a 16 year old girl, yes I said GIRL, because you have this incomprehensible obsession with transgender athletes. Creating a thread filled with nothing but hate against a child is far worse than a dude in the stands taking the piss out of a professional athlete to get in their head. You are a hypocrite, a bigot, a transphobe and a clown and YOU are the one that should be banned from professional track & field.
Looks like Nikki Hiltz has entered the chat. Nikki, you gave yourself away in the second paragraph.

Actually, it was your brother that started the thread, you two look alike and are both morons so I lump you together as sharing a single brain (cell).
Dang, I haven't seen Hiltz this triggered in a while. They're really taking this personally.

So in you next post you admit this didn't happen. You just have a narrative out for me in your mind. But feel free to share whatever post you are talking about. Robert may have said something insensitive. We've never said we don't mistakes on here, but we are very reachable.
It was during introductions perhaps I should have clarified that. It seemed fairly quiet because the guy was on the first row. But if at a basketball game someone says to an athlete from the front row that they don't like someone because of the race of the person they married they're going to get kicked out.
I generally think athletes should be less sensitive about the things said about them. Some of it comes with the territory. You can't control what someone says about you but meets can have standards.
I should be banned from track because I think males should compete against males and females vs females? Then I guess the entire World Athletics community should be banned as well because fortunately that is the rule. Sex not gender is a very sensible and fair concept.
Don't apologize to Nikki. They're just trying to lure you and Rojo into a pointless argument.
Genuinely shocked that anyone would think this is acceptable behaviour. What kind of a world do you want to live in where a man heckles & tries to humiliate & provoke a woman doing her job? Don't any of you have mothers, sisters or daughters?
Totally gross, misogynistic and racist behaviour. Regardless of whether he may or may not have any issues himself, as some suggest, he should have been removed by the event officials. This is nothing to do with 'freedom of speech', it is harassment.
Again, go to Real Madrid v Barca, River v. Boca, eltivmcs v. Rangers, or Man U v. Liverpool and tell me what was yelled at her was all that bad. Those fans celebrate death with song.

So does what occurs at those futbol games make it OK?

You’re a fvcking chucklehead.
Yes, it's great. The actual hate eminaring from the crowd makes for a wonderful atmosphere and the athletes relish it because they aren't thin skinned. Throwing a pigs head at Figo was a little over the top but makes for a good story and he didn't go cry to the world when it happened.
I have never wanted the type of behavior that is endemic in other professional sports to develop in track and field. I'd even be willing to accept the sport staying smaller, having less cash flowing through it, if it meant protecting it from abusive behavior.
