Hasn't won a global championship in his main event in nearly 4 years. Several other runners have worked out how to beat him. Yep - defining the limits of human achievement is certainly working out for Jakob. More like defining the limits of his own achievement.
Umm no. Ingebrigtsen’s main event is the 5K where he is the 3X reigning global outdoor champion and undefeated in his senior career. The 1500 is a just a fun way for him to compete at an off distance.
That's one way of trying to excuse his repeated defeats at the distance he races the most.
Has he broken the 5k record? I must have missed it.
Has he tried to? You are stupid.
I thought the subject was him defining the limits of human achievement - as he has said he intends to do - not stagnating at 12:48 for the last 3 years.

For Ingebrigtsen to become the greatest distance runner in history is more realistic than for Kerr to become the best Miler of his generation.
Ingebrigtsen has to pass Bekele, Gebrselassie and Kipchoge, no easy feat, that's for sure. But looking at his results he has achieved up to age 23, and with his great success in the 1500m which seperates him from those others, he has a realistic chance. For sure he needs to add 10000m success at the highest level which might be very difficult - we just have to wait what he can do.
For Kerr to become the greatest Miler of his generation is unrealistic when the other - younger - guys are improving constantly and when he (almost) doesn't race at all.
Ingebrigtsen will not be the greatest runner in history. He will certainly not determine the limits of human achievement for generations to come - Christ, what an ego. There are feats others have achieved he will never make. He will also continue to be beaten in his main event.
That's what you believe, nothing more.
We hsve to wait if he becomes the grestest distance runner in history. At the moment he still hss a good chance.

Not an excuse, just a fact. Jakob is a 5K specialist who likes to challenge himself at other distances such as the 1500 and the HM. It just so happens he is the best in the world at 1500—not so much the HM.
Jakob in the 5K is like fellow Norwegian Magnus Carlsen in classical chess. It’s gets old destroying everyone in the longer formats.
Isn't it Jakob who runs out of breath and is reduced to a walk - like he showed in his HM debut?
Jakob went full send in a HM just 36 hours after defeating Hocker and Nuguse in the DL 1500 final. It was epic. He stuck with the lead pack and blew up! And yet he managed to set the Norwegian 10K Road record en route.

That's what you believe, nothing more. So far the facts say he hasn't done it.

He isn't a 5k specialist; he hardly runs it. His focus has been on the 1500 more than any other event. He isn't necessarily the best over that distance, either, when he has been beaten in every global 1500 final since 2021.

Always the excuses. 63min - 39th. It wasn't a 10k race and the Norwegian record doesn't mean jacksh*t at a world level.

Kerr is a little unstable so naturally he's going to have an obsession or two.
Having a rival in athletics and focusing on them a bit doesn't make anyone unstable. ...especially when you are successful against your rival. Having Peter Elliott as a fake-uncle could make a boy unstable.
