I’m not sure if you were the first on the forum but I was talking about her in high school when she committed to NC State and talking about how good of a signing she was for them.
She has 2 years of eligibility left. I feel pretty confident that she’ll crack 15 before she’s done, perhaps even this upcoming season if she stays healthy.
She will graduate at 23 yrs old if she completes the remaining two years.
I recall you posting about her in the past, maybe on the thread I suggested if she strategically (not a crash and burn diet), over time, loses such-and-such weight, her times will drop (to which I was resoundingly downvoted.)
To try and break 15 this season might be pushing the line.
Hartman is a 2004 birthday and I believe just turned 21 so she’ll actually only be 22 for her last outdoor season.
15 probably is overly optimistic but I say she get the NC State record by next year.
She looks the same to me. She is a big woman but not in a bad way. Her legs are very strong. She really has an atypical build for someone that is strong up to the 10k but she has her head on straight and doesn’t seem to have those body image issues/ED that many female athletes seem to get. I like seeing it and hope she keeps on keeping on.
Appears Hartman is knocking the door on 15:10-15:13 fitness already. I was the first on this forum to suggest this 5’10” sophomore might eventually, before graduating, run faster than the current NC State record of 15:03.

The 4:24/8:46 this weekend, both giant pbs show that she already has form for sub15:00 right now!
She will have to mentally recalibrate where she is as a runner right now, and stay healthy thru nats. She can now surprisingly compete for the win at mile/3000/5000. The newfound mile speed makes her a serious contender at 3000/5000.
With a 4:24 anchor, Pack can also cobble together a nice dmr for acc meet.

Halladay is (recently) six seconds faster over 3000m, and quite recently ran 14:57.63; thus, I didn’t think Hartman is quite sub-15, yet. But she evidently soloed that 3000m, so she is likely close.

If she doubles (or triples) at the Natty’s, she may not get the sub-15 this season, unless they send her to one of the west coast meets, like The 10. Otherwise, maybe we will possibly see it at the US Trials this summer.

Well I can't see the triple so if she runs the 5000 she would be fresh for that. Sub 15? That sounds fast to me. The question is does she run the mile, or the 5000/3000? The mile can quickly turn into a kickers race so I would vote the latter. But a lot of competition in all 3.

I just watched footage. I didn’t know she solo’ed both the 3000m AND the mile.

Hartman’s form running all out in that mile looks interesting; her stride melds into the track. Like Valby, there is potential for significant time improvement as they get stronger.

I just read that she signed an NIL with adidas. I assume that she is getting significant athletic and academic aid from NC State so that will be nice for her to have that money.
I was listening to an interview with Hartman a few weeks ago and she was quoted saying something along the lines of "running is something that I do, it's not who I am." She seems like she has a refreshing and positive attitude about things and puts things into perspective. If I find the interview I'll post it.
