It's what 12 hours out of a 168 hour week? How lazy are you and why would you spend any time on letsrun if you wouldnt spend 12 hours for a guaranteed 14 min 5k.
12 hours is actually quite a lot. It's not really out of 168, but out of whatever free time you have left after everything else is taken out (eating, sleeping, work if you work etc.)
Plus you don't just magically start your run and finish it in a break in some other activity with no other time loss. The time loss is clearly going to be more than 12 hours (assuming it even takes 12 hours to run 100 miles at your pace).
Long runs are effort and there'll be a lot of sitting round doing nothing or having a nap in the hours afterwards.
To reduce it to just 12 hours out of 168 is a gross oversimplification.
