I thought Keira D'Amato was running, but no one has even mentioned her. She didn't show up in the top 30 so I assume she dropped out. Anyone know what happened?

Never mind, I'm still asleep--it's Chicago she's running.
You’ve obviously got access to the internet. Why don’t you look up who won and what time they ran of you care??
honestly, why do you think i clicked on this thread in the first place? certainly not to read about people trying to get a new PB in their follower count.
so pardon me for thinking "Official 2024 BMW Berlin Marathon Live Discussion Thread" would include who won the actual race and what time they ran
yeah, weirdest thread I’ve seen on Letsrun, and that includes all those spam threads. And I guess the coverage was even good for once!
I always used to think these influencer threads were jokes that I didn’t get, but I’m starting to believe they’re horrifyingly real
Watched the race late without spoilers. Still wonder why they don’t aim for a negative split instead of going sub-61. Excellent pacing to 25K but still. If they go 61:30 maybe they get closer to 30K and the pace dawdles less. Nonetheless very good racing though Kandie still making rookie mistakes in not doing fueling stops correctly is crazy. Top 4 were outstanding and Mengesha looked comfortable the whole way. He could reach the Tola range I believe, he is progressing great to be at this point 5 years after Aarhus World U20 good. Huge race for Kiprop to come back from major knee surgery to under 2:03:40. Kotut also deserves a shout out for his bounce back after Boston.
Also just finished watching the replay, big win from Milkesa Mengesha after DNF in London (far from the only one there to). Happy for Stephen Kiprop to be back after his major knee injury - he ran 58:42 age 19 in 2019. Further down the men's field, Yohei Ikeda ran the 2nd fastest time for Japan at 2:05:12 for 6th. Also 12th (2:06:39) is not UNM's Lukas Kiprop but its '23 Iten Marathon winner Luke Kiprop who trains with Ebenyo. Kandie arrived in Berlin yesterday apparently so far from ideal travel delays but unclear who else was affected by that (about 20 were)
I agree with you Noah in thinking sub-61 is just too aggressive at halfway and many men paid the price for it. Seems all the flat majors are trying to outdo each other and we're getting a lot more positive split men's marathons as of late (excluding Kiptum).
Also Tim Hutchings all but officially confirmed Tigst Assefa is doing Valencia in December, I think he said a marathon in Spain in December so fair to assume she'll be there on 1 December looking for something quick
Anyone confused why ben parkes went completely solent on all social media for this race? not even an instagram story. I actually bumped into him on the way to the corals and made a quick "oh hey good luck chat" and he seemed super stressed and anxious about the race. Feeling almost sorry for him after seeing him. Even if you are just running for fun seems odd for an influencer to put out zero content about it.
