Not sure if he is class of 2026, or 2025 but Joe Martin from NZ to UNC. 1:49, 4:05. 17 years old as we speak I think. Hopefully someone knows, and noone objects to this post.
Not quite sure why this is, but I was just curious as to why there are tens of girls committing their junior year, and only a few boys. On the spreadsheet, there is sooo many more girls then boys. Is this just because high school girls tend to reach an elite level sooner?

The same thing happens in other sports. In soccer girls will often commit in the sophomore year if they’re really good. Boys will almost never commit until after their junior year club season or senior high school season if they’re live in a state where high school soccer is played in the fall.
Where is this “spreadsheet” that everyone is referring to?

To answer your question, though, it has to do with girls maturing faster than boys, I think.

elsewhere in the thread, but here is the link. Private but read access can be granted.
now 25 requests for access in the last 2 weeks....the list of those verbally committing continues to grow as well with over 30 Girls. Most of those have a 3200 pr, and the average of those is right around 10:20.

Could you round down to 10:19? Please and thank you.

Gotta love how people thought there was no room for their daughters to run in D1
(this is a joke) But shame, shame, shame as you have rounded up her 3000m time!!! 9:54.48 per WA.
I coach a lot of athletes hard to remember every athletes pb. Tulane is getting a good one from my group possibly in August. 8:05/14:00/29:37
no worries, as I said, I made a joke. Someone objected when I once posted that someone with a 10:19.98 pr for 3200 had run 10:20 (with no decimal places).
Any idea if Daniel Skandera will compete for a college team? If so, which one?
Or if he is considering any teams
He said in a podcast last fall that he was talking to several coaches and had already taken an unofficial visit to Alabama. He has an older brother who is an MIT grad so he is probably smart enough to get attention from the top academic schools. His father/coach ran for Cal Poly.

Love the guilty conscience you have by selling short kids and their performances. Eats at ya.
