Rich fan bois who can't hold down a real job so they volunteer for free. Who cares?
A lot of college kids (and even high schoolers) do it to get work experience so they make their resume look better when applying for post-university jobs
I know this thread was created many months ago but from what i've seen since it just seems like they shifted from an editorial perspective to a social based strategy. Their social media presence has been a lot different this season. I know coaches don't care a lot about that but athletes do. Lots of states where they don't traditionally have a presence are getting coverage from Idaho to Oregon to Michigan shedding light on athletes who previously wouldn't have visibility from a national outlet.

Hello,
Stumbled upon this thread (I’m actually pretty active on (spectating)letsrun because it’s entertaining most of the time). Hoping to pull in more Michigan exposure onto national when I can this upcoming year whenever my own state duties don’t interfere. Was able to be up there a few times in the past (once last indoor for a big invite).
Life is calming down a bit now after this summer so we’ll see how this goes.do enough digging and someone can probably figure out who this is, nothing more than a fan of the sport at the end of the day.
There is a HS running social media YouTube account called YouthRunnerMag. It’s a lot more active now, now that one of the interviewers Erik Boal switched from Dyestat to YouthRunnerMag

I agree, tx.milesplit sucked with their 2026 UIL regional track & field coverage. ABSOLUTELTY SUCKED!
As of Tuesday afternoon, they still do not have anything on their 'UIL Regional Meet Hub', not even a mention of the weather delays that a few regional meets had over the weekend. All regional meets were completed by Sunday.
At least the Region 3-6A meet was timed by Flash Results Texas and they had real-time results with leader splits during the races.
Tx.milesplit used to be good... a long time ago. Now, they're worse than RunnerSpace, and that is saying a lot!
Where do other Texans get prep track and XC results?

Is William Grundy gone? Hasn't posted an article in a month. :( He was great.
I think tx.milesplit.com still has the most complete results, I always start there. Rarely rarely athletic.net has results you can't find elsewhere, like live or middle school. I then look for the actual timing company website for details like ntxtiming.com or cowtowntiming.com. Also teams like Southlake and Flower Mound mostly use X.
Erik Boal clearly knows nothing about how YouTube works. There is practically no one in the United States who wants to subscribe to a YouTube channel that is about a whole bunch of different high school sports.
All Erik Boal accomplished was to lose much of his running audience by filling his YouTube account with interviews of a bunch of baseball, basketball, volleyball, etc. players that no track fan has ever heard of.
