Lib? Well I'm not a lib and I agree that 22 is way too young. This isn't the 1950's. You must be living in a rural area or the South where people have 4 kids and get divorced by the time they're 25. And then wonder what went wrong...
I'd agree that 22 is not normal, but it isn't "too young" necessarily. Sure, most people in our society today wait quite long after they become adults to get married, and most people have no experience and/or conception of marriage as a lifelong relationship oriented toward raising a big family. But that doesn't mean that there aren't entire families and communities that function just fine with those attitudes. In my extended family, for example, most people have gotten married before age 28, the average family has more than 4 kids, and nobody is divorced. Would that work for everyone? No. But that's more because most people have no experience how to live that way.
My wife and I got engaged when she was 21 and I was 23. We got married a year later. We've been married 11 years now and have 3 kids. Everything is going well at work/school/home for us and the kids. Good thing I didn't consult Letsrun before deciding to propose.
