In Paris, she wore the same shoes as the other Nike athletes, and wore Nike gear in every social media post leading up the race. She was probably getting paid, no?
This makes no sense. Unless she’s among for too much $. She’s basically lost out on 1/4 of a years pay for waiting.
Yes, her NIL deal at Florida was with Nike. She's had it since last year. This is the NIL deal others are talking about re: rights to refusal.
That’s not why she is unsigned. You must not understand what NIL deals mean. The day you leave college your NIL is over. They only thing on going is first rights to refusal. That just means Nike can match any offer. It’s not a big deal.
If her Dad is really her agent he messing up big time. There is no reason she’s not signed except for bad advice and bad management
When does right of first refusal clock start? Valby still technically has eligibility until she signs a pro deal right? I know she has said she is leaving but is there some paperwork mechanism to formally renounce that and start the ROFR clock? Otherwise her NIL deal would still be in effect (assuming it was set to run for her full eligibility)?

It would be helpful if someone could point to a source that actually explains things like NIL deal timelines, duration, first refusal clauses, etc. It seems like right now NILs exist in a Wild West of collegiate athletics. Does “leave your college” mean graduate? Run out of eligibility? Drop out? Turn professional?
You seem to be suggesting that Valby’s NIL ended in June when she graduated and (presumably) ran her last collegiate race. And that she’s currently in some sort of limbo where she’s voluntarily not signing a pro contract because any offer from a rival would be matched by Nike, thereby forcing her to sign with them. Who on earth would have agreed to those restrictions in the first place? Forced to Nike because UF is a Nike school but now she wants to sign with a rival?
If NILs are supposed to help college athlete it would be great to have more transparency about their details.
What don't you understand? She is waiting for it to exire so that she won't have to go with Nike if they match another offer. This isn't complicated nor a secret.
It’s just a Match, that's what first rights to refusal means. There is no obligation to sign with Nike. That means she's not getting a good deal if she's waiting for it to expire whiles she's losing out on Money month by month. What you're saying makes absolutely no sense. If this is the case, she need better guidance.
This is obviously too complicated for you to understand.

You are obviously the one here that doesn’t understand how it works, troll.

Maybe now it is becoming clearer! Didn’t you read the RW articles? Lorge-Butler talked to unnamed insiders in the sport, who said sometimes the ROFR is only 90 days instead of 180 days. The latter would be more beneficial to the sponsor than to the athlete. I don’t know and can only guess, but maybe it was that small detail in the original NIL contract,, and/or others like it, that led to the decision of Valby’s Dad dropping that agent.

Actually you’re confused. NIL deals end the day you run your last college race. So does your agent contract that helped you sign your NIL. And Parker did both. She had an agent to sign her NIL and she did not rehire that agent after college and that’s why Dad is her now current agent. Her first right to refusal just says the same as all NIL deals that Nike basically gets to match any offer. It’s not a bad deal it actually makes a bidding war. The problem with Parker’s Dad/agent is he is asking for an absurd amount of money that no a single company wants to pay. So in the meantime she has no contract and will be out 4 months pay. That’s big portion of a year. Again she’s losing money everyday and asking for too much. She will be stuck taking a low ball amount if they don’t get things correct soon.
You start your idiotic post by repeating what everybody who was correct told you multiple times until you finally got it, and then you make the unfounded assertion that her dad is asking for too much money.
You don’t know that. You don’t know what she is worth. So knock it off with your idiotic posts.
I'm kind of stunned this accurate statement is getting more downvotes than upvotes.
I'm kind of stunned this is the kind of incel content you want on your "running" website
I'd agree. While Rojo's comment may be true, it expresses an appallingly reactionary way of thinking "the athlete in question is perceived as physically attractive, and that where her 'value' as human lies, not in her achievements."

Is it really bad to say that she is attractive? Stop being woke! Oh I forgot, stop saying woke!
