I would say Cush should go for the distance job. But unfortunately they don’t want to hire a high school coach with little to no success. UCLA also requires coaches to write emails. Cush needs a lesson on when to use capital letters in a sentence.

awww, c'mon be fair: "little success" is accurate, by probably most college hiring standards, but not "no success"--that's just being mean. and you'd be surprised: i can rite purty gud when i need to. i just don't do so here. by the way, standards for hiring can be surprisingly low: i was actually offered the usc distance job many years ago, before i'd amassed a mediocre h.s. coaching resume. i can only assume it was because i used to be a purty gud runner too...

LR is known for being the wild wild west but this thread is one of the worst. You guys are lying, and what is worst is the lies show that you have no idea what you are actually talking about. Joanna is the perfect hire for this job, this salary pool, this set of circumstances. Yes she is a DEI hire, so what. Changes nothing about her coaching. JH has been on staff at UCLA and USC since 2015, except for the 2 seasons she left SC to coach Sydney. She for damn sure has been an active recruiter, please stop lying and making up things.

She was at trials as a USC coach per her contract. NCAA year goes from July 1 - June 30th. Talk about what you know about please. You succeeded in looking stupid by making false comments.

IF and that is a huge IF, you are a alum then support her! Too many Bruins whine about NIL and do not give a single dime to the cause. So Cal coaches are waiting for a JH to tap back in and return UCLA to a level of respect. But none of it will happen with 30 years of alum sitting in the shadows

Hayes messed up big time by accepting the job and doing a press conference on campus at UCLA way before July 1st. That was a big no no and it was an extremely bad look. She is already starting off on the wrong foot. I’ve never seen it don’t that way at any other schools.

I disagree. This summer is messy with elite coaches having considerable obligations to Olympic hopefuls and athletes through August. Coaching Olympians is MONEY for a coach, in terms of credibility and recruiting ease and quality. The press conference was damage control, to try to minimize wild speculation, complaints, and to maintain interest among recruits. Hayes will recruit very well. There was no perfect way to make this move across town because it’s a messy Olympic summer.

Ucla TF alumni are a notoriously dissatisfied, critical group. They didn’t rally behind alumn Avery Anderson. Will they realize alumni can actively help the program by supporting the coach?

UCLA never had a donor problem with Avery Anderson. Actually Avery’s UCLA Alum / Football status goes deep and well respected. What UCLA won’t do is partake in NIL money. This is a problem if they want to complete for top athletes from California and beyond. They are way behind and falling more behind every year.

They both are staying. Only the jumps guy got let go. AD issued an email to all of us about this. I just want some stability man. For a lot of us this has been a wild ride.

Never had a donor problem? I think you are playing word games. Support and donor support are not the same thing. A huge problem with UCLA tfxc is the gap in alumni connection. There is the Bush crew who are supremely loyal, and after that there is a 4 decade disconnect. JH will help here tremendously, and I hope that development helps here too going forward. NIL is problematic and catching track people off guard

UCLA T&F has plenty of money. They just won’t do NIL and the Administration can’t get the hires right due to a lack of education in the sport. UCLA rather spend their time hiring pro Palestine educators that could give two shiits about T&F.

Its looks like Hayed officially cleaned house this week and will start over. In 4 years time UCLA T&F will be in the same situation with no success and lack on knowledge. It’s the same BS but another year.

her husband was an asst. coach for NAU football and got hired by Michigan State (a huge upgrade) and Becca went with him. not sure if she's still coaching.
