I'd like to see Salazar write an extremely detailed book describing the training methods he used for Galen Rupp, Mo Farah, Hassan, and Goucher. A "here's how to develop an athlete from walking off the soccer field as a kid to multiple Olympic medals as an adult" and "how to take a mostly unknown pro and turn him into one of the most decorated Olympians of all time".
Skeptics will say it's all about the dope. But there are tons of people on dope who never make it to those levels. So even if they were on dope, their training program was far better than anyone else in the sport. With Salazar's hyper obsession you know they had optimized technique work, optimized diets, optimized speed development, optimized weight training, optimized recovery, etc. No stone went unturned in NOP.
Leaving aside the controversies that Alberto was involved in, there is huge value in such a book. Rupp is perhaps the only elite athlete in the last 50 years who was coached by the same person from childhood all the way to the top. How he was brought up from the beginning level season by season would be valuable to know from a development perspective.
Even Salazar's haters have to admit that the book would be gold. It doesn't matter if you think they doped; as we know from constant doping busts, there are a lot of pros who dope. Salazar turned Rupp into a medalist, Farah into a multiple gold medalist, and Hassan into one of the greatest female runners of all time. He even got Kara a medal and Mary Cain a U20 world championship. All of the rest of the world's dopers combined haven't accomplished that.
Even though he's banned from the sport, I don't think he can be banned from writing a book. I'd certainly be interested in reading it.
