US Women's Steeplechase is wide open

You're way behind. She announced several months ago that she was going to compete in the Olympic Trials.

Whether or not she runs fast enough to actually qualify for the Trials is something different. But her goal to run the Olympic Trials has been known for a long time. She said months ago that the Trials or the Olympics would be her last steeplechase race ever.

yeah shes always been a contender. she finished 4th in last years US Trials, just a few seconds behind Courtney Wayment.

Colleen Quigley ran a 10:01 at Portland Track Fest. Ouch.

Allie O first place in Portland, a PB 9:24.70.

She ran the last 600+ meters in lane two because the NM runner wouldn’t give an inch. Super impressive and worth another couple of seconds under 9:24. Allie’s fight is unmatched. She’s gonna make the team.

That was an awesome race to watch!

Not only did she race well and win, but she showed she can close HARD! That new PB was from a closing kick off that last hurdle that was awesome.

SO CLOSE to the Olympic standard! (A couple of tweaks to her water jump and she should easily get the standard).

field is so wide open. 14 go thru to finals. so many dark horses that could step up and have a great race.

H1 has Constien, Wayment, Mitchell and Boreman

…also has Jolly, Ellis and Rodenfels.

Two of them probably won’t make it to the finals, since the 4 time qualifiers will probably come from H2.

Jolly is one of my dark horses but yes, she needs her heat to go fast. problem is Wayment is in her heat and she usually goes to the lead. she'll keep it honest but as a veteran is smart enough to save her energy for the finals.

no huge surprises in that first heat though angelina ellis falling and recovering for 5th was nice. my dark horse Logan Jolly was right there but got outkicked.

Jolly and Rodenfels out, unless the women in H2 decide to go slow and let them qualify

biggest surprise is Krissy Gear barely making it to the finals. she looked tired early and if not for her kick would have been knocked out.

heartbreaking for Gracie Hyde from Adams St. she misses advancing by .01 seconds. brutal.
