One clarification: as shown in the documented history I provided, the intent behind the standard 4-year ban was to have convicted dopers miss the next Olympics, not “at least one.” It’s very important we get the facts straight.
The speculative question of if she was doping in previous years before the one in which she tested positive is beyond the scope of this thread.
Most people following this would have a hard time believing that any confession she made would be false. For someone who believes otherwise maybe your idea has merit. I don't really believe it does but who knows what I'd believe if I believed her? As far as I'm concerned a doping conviction that makes a doper miss one Olympics is good, a suspension that makes a doper miss two Olympics is even better.
