Looks like 8;50 or a touch faster pace
Now that was impressive
Did she have to pass anyone?

Almost everyone I think
The fast heat seems to be on pace for 9:00 or slower pace

Nope. Too bored with things lately to post.
My take on this was that this was a record attempt. She skipped all of indoor since early December, and was running on a very fast track. And she had two teammates pacing her in the race. If she merely wanted to qualify there would be no reason to run anywhere near as fast.
She was in the first of two heats, the second heat was loaded with fast athletes, so she primarily ran fast for (unknown at the time) placement.
They knew anywhere in they low 8:50s would easily qualify. This is as fast as she can run this distance, period.
Only 27 athletes, including 2DNF’s are listed in the results for Section 1 (not including the DNS’s), yet there appears to be way more than 27 athletes on the track at the start of the race. Wonder why the disconnect?

Again, ‘placement’ took precedence over ‘qualifying’, sparky.
Maybe if there were more athletes on the track she would have had a slower time to please you.

Balderdash! Parker will likely run the 5k in two weeks, but I would like her to run the 3k and go after Tuohy’s record. I’m confident she would break it. She’s getting faster and her competitors are scared.
Expect Great Things!!!
