I love me some Usher. But I was very disappointed in his Super Bowl performance. What the xxxx happened? I was very let down.
Same. The Weeknd was 100x better. But he's also 20 years younger than Usher. Even Rihanna was better last year, and that show was pretty tepid. Will we ever get something other than "urban" music for this show? It doesn't have to be Aerosmith or Paul McCartney or Taylor Swift or country, RHCP or blink 182 or Foo Fighters would rock it.
I would love to see RHCP do the halftime show. They would be 10X more entertaining than Aerosmith or Rolling Stones.
I think it is based on the demographics most likely to watch the Super Bowl, or network TV in general. That demographic is likely not the under 30 group. They're probably mostly watching netflix and tiktok.
Usher is still relevant to the over 30's crowd.
Is he? Is he really? I am over 30, and the only time I can imagine someone playing Usher is as a half-joking, “delightfully tacky” throwback to their younger days.
I didn't think the SB show was great, but Usher still has a few songs that are popular at events. Also, the show is not for 17–25-year-olds, and it is pretty normal for the SB performer to be at least a decade beyond their prime.
