Impressive 3 final 1k from Lemngole, 3:00 flat beating Chmiel by 10 seconds. Tuohy and Valby have some competition....
What is going on with Olemomoi, Markezich? Surprised they did not finish higher.
I was surprised as well, but it's early days and neither runner has anything to prove at this point. Markezich may have been trying to pull her teammates along somewhat.
As an Ohioan it pains me a bit seeing Taylor Ewert, now at Michigan St, coming in 19th place in the open in 18:08.
Here's a runner that was the SEC freshman of the year in XC at Arkansas. In high school she was in the top 10 at NXN and Footlocker for 2 consecutive years, was a 16:50ish cross country runner, and 10:18 for 2 miles. I am assuming that her performances now are reflective of her injury that from what I hear was fairly significant.
Southern Utah in the entries. Did they get a new coach? They are nowhere in the rankings anymore, did half of their team quit?
Eric Houle is still the head coach. They appear to have a talented young woman. Men’s team seems to really struggle for a second year in a row, it was bound to happen after years of seemingly luck.
Colorado State, Colorado, and Notre dame men are examples of how some programs can dip into plateaus or regressions after some peak years. Too many factors to single out one reason.
Davis and Corner canyon were also two Utah high school greats for a little bit. Now they’ve dipped back down.

I will never forget that sprint to the finish between Tuohy, Ewert, and Thorvaldsen at NXN 2019. One of the greatest HS xc races ever!
Allyson Churchill ran well today also, right behind Chmiel. Intetesting, she was 1st in her other two races this season. Ran 16:08 5k at Covered Bridge, winning by 30 seconds.

Churchill ran a smooth race, holding 3rd place almost throughout and there was something about FlSt’s top five rolling in at 3/33/45/46/55 that reminds me of a movie I've seen before....
