$1 million dollars is, I think, a gross over estimate of what Zane and his family will need to have his appeal accepted. I'm thinking more like $50,000-$100,000 would greatly facilitate matters for his appeal, if it goes to that stage. Kenya is a relatively poor developing nation. We shouldn't confuse this case with silly U.S. compensations where people push $1 million for spilled coffee on their shirt....
We are even jumping the gun here because Zane has not yet been convicted and might not even be convicted.
Depressing to read the worst case scenarios here. Way over the top.
Zane R. is no choirboy, but lifelong criminal, he's not. He messed up big time but there may be extenuating circumstances to all of this.
Let's let the unfortunate Kiwi have his day in court.
