Really?? Lauren as an example of better morals? Just stands by and does nothing while her husband and coach of the team is involved in multiple inappropriate relationships with the athletes? That’s a coach with better morals? WTF???

I disagree. Especially in light of the well organized and extremely frantic and desperate effort to mass upvote or downvote certain posts on here and get posts deleted for no reason. Have never seen ANYTHING like that on this site and I’ve seen a lot over the years.

I wouldn’t call that thinking ahead. I would call that desperate and delusional. But it is crazy how much they are fighting it instead of just admitting fault, making amends, and letting some time pass before moving on. Maybe Lauren could even coach somewhere else. Doubling down will cost them everything though. At least I hope.

You are right. I’ve never heard a drug rumor about Schumacher, Mackey, Wetmore, any good coach ever, or any good runner ever. Yawn.

Look closely at the case of your so called scandal. To the typical letsrun reader it causes keyboard outrage as they are headline scanners. But to a shoe executive, agent, or meet director who MUST do real homework as a part of their jobs….well you instead see the multiple offers and invites to the Diamond League. I expect your “scandal” to be tossed on merit any day now.

As someone who has spent the time to read every document and police report available here because I desperately want this not to be as bad as it is, I can confidently say that the closer we look, and the more “homework” these exe a do, the worse it gets. If there’s non-public information that undermines the incredibly detailed and troubling reports that are publicly available they either (a) should be made public if they are documentary evidence or (b) they are just the Johnsons and Wiley saying “nope not true.” Category (a) doesn’t exist or they would have provided it already—ie if you’re going on the news to repudiate stuff you’d offer that up instead of victim shaming. Category (b) isn’t credible given the info already available.

Again: I and pretty much EVERY person on these boards you consider to be a Wiley hater isn’t in fact a Wiley hater. We are Johnson haters. And we want Wiley to get a fat contract that pulls her far far away from the Johnsons. If that happens, well be lined up to celebrate the development and any subsequent medals she earns.

I also am under the belief there could be blackmail and manipulation here, possibly having groomed and doped Addy throughout high school. (Nick Johnson had prescriptions for both EPO and testosterone). Lauren Johnson having paced Addy to HS record, and both having close relations with her in HS (which is already weird; especially given their past). I do feel bad for Addy if any spin of this is the case. I think if she came out clean, people would greatly sympathize with her, especially since her connection began as a minor.

My biggest question is how could Huntington University fire Nick and then proceed to hire his wife? Where are the adults here? Even if they are threatening to expose her doping, how are her parents not protecting her? If I were the parent, even if I thought the allegations may not be truthful, I wouldn't let my daughter anywhere near these 2 coaches. The drugs at hand are serious and potentially dangerous. Not to mention sexual and emotional abuse. This whole thing is wild.

This is the best summary. Cynical assumptions are not a factor. They are as low numbered as loud, even though the genius squawkers somehow believe they are representing a 1 millionx multiplier.

The same people assuming Wiley will be stranded and shunned would have insisted a few weeks ago that major European meets would want no part of her. Those same posters were already on record here saying Wiley would immediately test positive if she competed in the USATF meet. Less than a week ago multiple posters in the prediction thread said she wouldn't show up in Brussels.

Nobody goes broke wagering on normalcy. It's the adjusters who fail time and again, via laughable confidence in their subjective flails.

I’m ambivalent about Wiley, but it has been painful at times to observe how emotional, idiotic, and purely reflexive some have been. In the main thread, some sincerely believed that Huntington should terminate all of its sports programs because of the situation. It doesn’t get any more out of touch from reality than this.

Are you in denial, an apologist, or just hopelessly naive. Oh that's right. You said Chemusto was an exceptional talent and those questioning her sudden rise were dullards. Sound familar. Maybe you have been honest about doping elsewhere. Do tell. Otherwise good call as always.

No one is naive. This is a dirty, corrupt, drug addled niche sport. The negative reaction among followers of the sport and especially US distance running has been very widespread. Trivialize it all you care to, but it matters. It is a heck of a thing when virtually everyone who follows a sport thinks an athlete is a fraud. As to your own opino, it is meaninglessness. The media even acknowledges the issues. But no one expects the dreg DL meet organizers in this sport to care, because they never have. They have always been indifferent to cheating, scandal and farce. Which is why general sport fans could not care less. If they stopped inviting dope cheats, who would be left?

Whp said she would test poistive off the bat? She is not even in the RTP and even then it might take years or never happen. Does not mean the rest if us have to share your obtuseness or apathy.

Remember folks. If you cheat, even blatantly and in college, but the DL invites you, it is all good and all your sins are forgiven.
