As do the "wait for the Kenyans to arrive and destroy the record" crowd. Great job Remi - the high altitude training paid off!

Agreed on all counts. Seems like Remi got the memo that high altitude specific training is the key for PP, not just general mountain running. And it looks like he's built similar to Matt - smaller frame than guys like Joe, Sage, Dakota and some others, which also seems helpful on a pure ascent race.

And it looks like he's built similar to Matt - smaller frame than guys like Joe, Sage, Dakota and some others, which also seems helpful on a pure ascent race.
Oops, just Googled and he's 5'11" @ 136lbs, which is still slight, but not Matt slight. Regardless, great race!
REMI is an absolute freak. I raced him back in like 2014-2015 at RUT... he was like a springbok deer, freaking bouncy as hell... and of course, he out-climbed us all that day and I think it was his North American debut. Damn impressive. Lean, tall, bouncy, a kid that probably could go 13:30's for 5000m (I'm a 13:50 guy and he was just impressive).

I dunno man Gray ran with a broken hand! Plus he's beat seth literally every single time they've raced and broke all his records. Gray is still far more elite but looks like he didn't perform at all today

He's also 39 and only ran 6 minutes slower than PR set when he was in his prime - not exactly a flame out, more like an expected trajectory. And let's be honest, a broken hand isn't that big a deal in an ascent-only race.
We saw him up top, yes it was a game changer. Hand was swollen as hell and his knee from that fall he took last week was still swollen. I know dude is hurting after losing to all those guys today under his condition. Guy should not have raced

OK so messed up knee is obviously another story, and yeah maybe he shouldn't have. Sounds likely a gutsy performance then.

He’s pretty thin if you look at him. Maybe there is some density to his frame but his actual build is very slight.

Are we now expecting a full length feature from Dr Eggman, our beloved mad scientist, when he returns to YT..? Maybe some Billy Yang style slowly spoken intro a the SUV pulls up to the car park. Pan across the many dents then into the car. It looks like there is no driver, just an unending pile of shoes on the dash. We go through the pile and seconds later we see the interior. Eggshells and Bobo wrappers litter the front passenger seat. And there is Seth, sipping a coffee, thinking. What..? There is an overlay of the OG LetsRun thread, just post after post threatening him and his family, bullying him. Seth takes a deep breath then puts the coffee down. Spilling it but also ignoring the spill. He then looks directly into the camera, a smile breaking out on his face as the overlay changes to Seth in the Shoedio, mugging for the camera before he utters the words “you know what time it is, cmon now!” as the title card comes up, showing “Running on Pure Hate: The SJD Story”. He gets of the car and puts some ski goggles on over three Buffs then begins to hop one legged up the trail…
