Honest question: How do we know that Addy is still being coached by the Johnsons? I thought Huntington got a new coach… Is it well-known that Addy is still coached by the Johnsons even while still competing for Huntington?
It is unfair, but I really have a hard time cheering for her because of the Johnsons. Emotionally, I can't separate them from her, even if I *know* intellectually that it's a hell of lot more complicated than that. I guess I also feel like some of her fanboys are so over the top about her talent on the world stage (which is good numerically, it really is, but she's not exactly Faith K. or even Keely H) that it just grates on me--often because they don't seem to account for the Huntington program's grossness.
I absolutely admit that I'm being small-minded here, and am probably morally wrong. But I'm also being completely honest about my ambivalence.
I just hope Track and Field/Running NEVER gets to the point, that whenever ANYBODY runs a very good time or a World or American Record whatever that people get suspicious and/or accuse that person of Doping

Excluding the real haters, this is where a lot of people are at. You’re correct that it’s unfair and small-minded to hold Wiley accountable for the Johnson’s shortcomings (and yes, if it helps, Nick was egregious and others at HU were dumb).

You’re not wrong. Definitely worth further self-reflection
How do we get posters banned? One in particular is ruthless when it comes to any runner who is better than Tuohy. Let's cheer for all Americans and get these.posters off of this site.

She has come out and said Lauren is coaching her this summer which means that is who is coaching her during the team season. The current head coach and distance coach know who is really coaching her. They just want more trophy photos opts.
I don't profess to know about the runner who is the subject of this thread - she matters only to American followers of the sport - but when such runners raise questions about doping - as we see here - it tells me where the sport is; nothing today can be trusted. It may not be possible to prove doping but denials by fans are convincing only to themselves. Doping cannot be separated from the sport; none of the best athletes can be assumed to be clean. They may be but the likelihood is they aren't. No defences offered (by them or their fans) can prove otherwise.
The top female distance runner in the NCAA is Tuohy. Interesting that you say the likelihood is that she is not clean. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt.

I didn't and haven't said of Tuohy the "likelihood is that she is not clean". I haven't said all top college athletes are doping, without exception. With Tuohy, I don't see anything yet in her performances that strongly suggest doping - and I am also of the view that doping is less prevalent among college athletes than pros. That notwithstanding, I allow the possibility she could be doping, even if at this stage I don't see it as likely with her. I tend to think doping is more obvious - there are often "red flags" - which is why we suspect some runners more than others. That is why there are these debates.

So the top college runners aren't doping? Wiley is a college runner.
I didn't say that. They may be but not necessarily. Some will. Some won't. They aren't pros, amongst whom it is much more likely and almost inevitable at world-championship final level.
