Tuohy is one of the best role models in this sport. Not an easy thing in this sport. The other is an embarrassment. You can autodelete it. Deflect it. Lie about it. But that's the simple truth. If you want to connect them so intently, excuse me for noting it. I mean, geez, at least wait until after college to pull this nonsense. No shame.
A true role model would follow through on her commitments. She committed to run that 5000 and then backs out at the last second.
Ironic you say this considering Addy committed to run for Colorado and then backed out at the last second.
This take is so lazy and boring. Maybe Klecker should figure out how to throw in a surge with 2k to go that no one can go with. Everyone in the field knows what Kincaid can do in the last mile, if they don’t do anything to stop him, why would we blame Kincaid?
Lots of posts disappearing. I thought the conversation this morning was very tame and factual. Mods, can you maybe make a statement about what can and can't be discussed? This is the US championships. A 19 year old just edged out the Olympic 800 gold medalist and a 4:18 miler in the first round. That is discussion worthy.
Not sure why you're getting all the downvotes, because your post raises a solid point. If the coaches did dope up their athletes, which seems more likely than not, then the feelings towards said coaches should trickle down to the athletes who benefitted from it. At the very least, it's understandable why the athlete would come under fire for associating themselves so close to the program even after everything that went down with the Johnsons. The dismissive attitudes of many posters on here is incredulous because of how they react to African runners, Mo Katir, OAC, and other "dopers." If doping is seemingly as widespread as LetsRunners make it seem, then we should rightly look at the HU scandal as harder proof than anything against those I mentioned above.
Like Astro or not, he raises a valid point. To ignore it and downvote it without a second thought shows the hypocrisy of all involved.
The issue is the hypocrisy. These same posters CHERISH Grant Fisher, Evan Jager, etc. despite athletes from their group being caught doping. Jerry can pretend he had nothing to do with it, but Jerry clearly knew (if not helped her dope) and he defended her even though she was 100% dirty. But Cranny, Fisher, McGorty, and all don't get 1/100th of the hate that Wiley does.
These posters WORSHIP coaches like Wetmore and Mike Smith who married athletes they coached. Even Geiger at NC State married an athlete he coached. It's creepy and wrong, but why don't those coaches ever get criticized? There is a clear double standard.
Here's the reason - the Tuohy fans like astro will SLANDER anyone who threatens Tuohy athletically. They accused Valby of doping with no proof. Now they are trying to ruin Wiley's reputation when she's passed every drug test she's taken.

They continually get criticized--there is no double standard. I've been listening to the NC State coach marrying his athlete saga for 30 plus years now--it never stops. Gain a little perspective.

McGee seemed to go all out, not sure why. She will be fine in the final. Mu on the other hand was just cruising in for the auto qualifier. Not sure why someone edging her out in a prelim in her third best event would be so notable either. Or the fact AW is 19. When Mu was 19 she was a ACTUAL gold medalist in her primary event.
This discussion was the most respectful and factual I’d seen in the issue yet. The deleted comments also largely expressed personal support for Wiley. Yet the brojos seem to want to basically censor all discussion of the issue in perpetuity without any explanation whatsoever. Just another set of hypocritical “free speech but only when I like it” supporters.

you are ridiculous. runners of all levels scratch from a second event all.the.time. it's normal.
These Wiley threads are always complete sh!t shows. It’s like the Mueller report that had more redactions than actual words.
Why is there such an effort to protect one individual (she who must not be named) when many other athletes get slandered on here every single day? Why is one treated so special?
