Overall thoughts:
Chebet’s kick is insane. If it’s a slow 5,000, you’d still back Kipyegon if she’s there but between Hassan, Chebet, Tsegay I mean…
With Tsegay likely doing the 5/10K double, I’d think Hailu is a real medal threat at 1500. She has a really good kick. In a fast race you’d back Welteji and probably Muir too.
Men’s 800, Sedjati is rock-solid, but impressed by both Ordonez and Tual who will be in the mix to make the final. In those conditions, 50.2/1:16 was too fast. Korir clearly hurt and he has to run at Kenyan Trials. At this rate, he definitely won’t make the finals at Trials let alone worlds with the bum ankle.
Nothing much to take from the sprints except Neita is in great form, Ta Lou is probably not gonna be a threat in the 200, and Karsten is quite excellent. Amusan and Simbine back in top-form or close.
