Addy Wiley interview

I have to say the deletion of posts is extremely troubling and disappointing. There has to be robust conversations about all of these topics. While I don't agree with some of the comments and the harsh attacks I think everyone should be able to freely express their opinions. I would love to see a more tempered tone in the discussions but censorship isn't the answer. There are some really good points being made that are being removed. We cannot push the conversation forward nor have the opportunity to gain a different perspective when this keeps happening.

Oh, so you are the one reporting the posts? You probably didn't read a single thing I posted, because A. I didn't post any BS and B. I didn't disparage or attack anyone. My posts don't belong in the HU thread, because that wasn't the context in which they were being made. They were specifically dealing with the criticism of her performances within this thread and the broader issues related to her performances.

How does any of this apply to posters who are simply providing links to publicly available articles about her team/coaches?

First, I never made a single slanderous remark. I am completely against the vicious attacks of this young woman. Second, slander requires that you knowingly stated something that is false and done so with malicious intent. Slander is not something easily litigated because there is a high burden of proof. Third, I am pretty sure section 230 covers Let's Run on this issue.

I could see an argument for putting a lid on any of the sexual abuse stuff, but if a runner continues to associate themselves with coaches who have a cloud of doping suspicion around them, then I think bringing up the doping angle is totally fair game. People do this in threads about other runners all the time.

Actually not true all. Section 230 provides exemption for ugc content ie messageboard posts. Besides, look at all the posts on others doping. Its explicitly allowed on the site.

Ironically, runnerspace can actually be held liable for publishing their own articles if defamatory. Which shows that the runnerspace or Indystar articles have been vetted through their own legal teams. David Woods said as much in an interview.

Shoe companies would be insane getting anywhere near Wiley. If she severs relationship with Nick and Lauren Johnson, maybe that changes, but still risky.

She doesn't need an NIL deal. She has a dog walking business.

If you were Addy's mother, wouldn't you have some uh, bigger concerns, than some shmohawk posting on LR?
