it'll be tough. Chismel, Tyynismaa, Bush, and Tuohy are all capable of finishing in the Top 10.
I would not put Bush in top 10 right now. As are Hertenstein and Cook. And Covert in the teens, and the other 2 in the 20s. But thru 4 NC ST likely ahead but that 5th.....
I think NCst will have Shaw again, right? She is racing all summer so no longer injured. Plus they will have Loveys, Rauber... but yeah CO is going to be formidable. Plus the altitude effect will make Cook and others even better

Bush finished 15th last year. I think its totally reasonable to say with a year more of training and experience she could be Top 10.
Not sure who NC State's #5 runner is but even if she got run over by a golf cart NC State will be tough to dethrone with those 4 running.

I think Shaw is done having run XC in 18, 19, 21, 22 (ran for NCSt in adidas XC challenge)

IF (Big if) all the CO runners are healthy Hertenstein and Cook were top 10 last year, Covert could easily be 10-15 and the other 2 were 25-30 so they could score in the 80s as a team.
NC St's 5th last year was 75th. 4 in top 10 might average 5 so that is 20. Hardly a slam dunk if you ask me, and I think Bush in top 10 is big ask as others like Plourde, McCabe, Jepkurui and probably more are better than last year
Mike Smith is committed to making NAU womens track just as good as the mens. They were 6th at XC last year, a massive improvement plus a solid recruiting class coming in. a couple of NM transfers might be the thing that gets them on the podium.
My thoughts exactly. Team is on the rise. Solid returners and great incoming freshman plus I am hearing of at least one confirmed transfer who hasn’t been announced
Ruby Smee from USF confirmed as transfer to NAU today ....58th at NCAA xc last fall. Nice pickup for the ladies of Flagstaff.
So our top teams are CU, NC St, Louisville and OSU.
CU will be the favorite on paper. They also have Baloga, Nechanicky and a D2 star. Having watched CU for years, in addition to health their challenge is always getting the peak right. They rightly take conference seriously and tend to run great at either conf or nats, but seldom both. When the whole team bombs, Wetmore has been very candid about this. Similarly, like the year the Jones, Morley, Hurta team finally won and all pr'd by 30 sec, Wetmore was thrilled to absolutely nail the peak.
I realize Bush currently hurt, but pack has a very reliable 4 in KT, Chmiel, T-maa and Bush and about 10 bodies to compete for 5-7.
OSU - They still have exactly 5. Roe, Jepkurui, Galvydyte, Born (yes 1 more xc) and Hentemann.

IF (another big if) Stanford gets Dudek to stay healthy, Bunnage is as good as she seems, Jenks runs to her best 5K potential, Riggs gets healthy they can be a podium team. But many IFs.

I'd add BYU to that group.
and Roe is a huge question mark for OSU. She's had a really subpar indoor/outdoor season. If she can't at least get Top 20 (she was 13th last year) they're in trouble.
The answer is yes as right now I would place NC St's (incl Tuohy) 5th well back of 31. Of course will all of the injured athletes be at their best again? I am curious how CO finds the $ for all of these transfers as they also have recruits coming in from hs. NIL?
He shouldn’t prevail in the 200m? Do we just skip that sprint event in your plan?
I met Coach Franklin about 102 months ago. He allowed me to put a workout in on a Saturday while team was there. Coach Franklin, my dad and I would be a great trio. Coach Franklin coaching XC and 3000mSC, 5000m and 10000m athletes, cooperation coaching 1500m athletes and my dad and I coaching 100m through 800m athletes plus hurdles, jumps and throws.
