I posted in this thread already but I cant find my post.
I knew Roisin put immense pressure on herself during her senior year of high school with hitting the qualifying time for the Olympic Trials and breaking 2 minutes.
She hit an elite version of a rut chasing those times and falling just short for a few weeks. I could almost see and feel the constant anguish inside her. It's one thing to be competitive. It's another to be anxious and so high strung that a ~2:01, for example, feels like a letdown and "bad race".
When she finally hit her marks I was concerned, as an outsider, witnessing the tears and relief from reaching those goals. That's not how it should be at all. I hope the Stevens Point and Stanford fans read this. I hope they make it a point to reach out and encourage her. Remind her that you love her and care for her, good or bad, running or no running. Beyond the perfomances on the track she is such a pleasant young lady.
I would think that as a person, she needs a vacation somewhere to reset for a couple weeks and then to return home. She cant just be sulking in a dark room in northern Wisconsin until 11am trying to sort it out. She cant just be sleeping in beyond a week. She cant be on social media scrolling non-stop. She's got to be up with the sun, running just to run, starting her day and starting a new journey. The great Galileo Galilei once said, "You cannot teach a [person] anything, you can only help them find it within themselves". This quote is especially true for her. She has to get back to her roots, 3recompense and find her groove again from within.
