Please state your opinion as to why the US has so many mass shootings. I don't espouse one view or another, I'm just curious what people here genuinely think.
There was no 24 hour news cycle prior to the 1990s and these shooters certainly weren't sensationalized in the media before that. It's not a coincidence that the number of mass shootings spiked after news became a business.
The leftist media actually treated the Nashville shooter like he was the victim.
If you’re posting here, you’re lying. I suppose if you’re talking you’re also lying.
Show a source, a reputable one, in which the Nashville shooter was portrayed as a victim.
"The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth."
I could go really deep into this answer, but i'll keep it short. The majority of shooters are young men. After the USA lost religion, it lost community and the importance of respecting + loving everyone around you.
Previously in America, believing in God and getting a high school deploma was enough to get a wife and respect from your neighbors.
Now we live in heirarchy's where respect is only given to men to are highly successful, and women who are beautiful. (Social media HEAVILY amplified this).
So now we have a 20 year old kid who probably has undiagnosed mental health problems, a terrible home life with no frame of reference to get help from professionals or from his community (because it doesn't exist), and is at the bottom of any competence hierarchy he enters.
He was never taught proper social skills and has trouble making/keeping friends. He has no marketable skills so he isn't successful. Media is telling him that as a straight/white male he is the anti-christ meanwhile he can't pay off the last $250 on his credit card bill. He's watching all the special privileges the girls his age are getting and he literally cant get a date.
He feels incredibly powerless and because society does not care about men unless they are successful, he does the only thing he can to finally feel respected and powerful for once in his life: resorts to violence. But this isn't the "get in a fight with a kid at school" violence. He want's everyone else to feel the pain that he's been feeling his whole life.
Twitchy is not a reputable source and the NBC news is just stating that since the shooter was trans, the trans community has fears of retaliation against them. It states nothing that portrays the shooter as a victim.

The Twitchy feed has direct links to sites you consider gospel like MSNBC.
It is baffling that you people dismiss any information that doesn't come directly from your pre-approved propaganda sites.

You’re joking, right? Whites commit under 20% of murders; blacks commit around 60%
Darn I wonder if this has anything to do with the social hierarchy created by legislation and upheld until the 60s and how that has effected the wealth of certain groups in our country.
Like do you genuinely believe black people are just wired to be more violent? It’s an honest question.
Interesting how quickly gang activity disappears in black kids once they live in a household that makes ends meet and has access to good education.
I had the opportunity to grow up in an area that was pretty diverse, not just in races but also who had money and who didn’t. The kids that came from the crappier low income neighborhoods were the ones more involved in drugs, fighting, dropping out, gang activity etc. The majority of which actually weren’t black. It was fairly evenly spread. I also lived in a state that was not populated until after slavery had been abolished, so the majority of black people that moved there did so by choice and had the wealth to do so.
What we did have, were African American kids who were heavily involved in student government, speech and debate, sports, valedictorians, school clubs.
The statistics are statistics at the end of the day, but we ignore a lot of nuance that comes with it. We don’t talk about how much of the black population has been poor generation to generation, and how poor white people also tend to be the violent or otherwise criminal white people within American society. It’s not the racial status that causes violence, it’s the economic and social status, which america for most of its history has distinctly placed black people at the bottom of.

FTFY
I also must add that the ‘leftist media’ the adult in his moms basement is referring to are the fringe Tiktokers calling them a hero and getting 50 or so likes that the right wing media flipped out about. Talk about gobbling up propaganda.
I don’t see any mainstream media trying to make them out as a victim. There was the whitehouse press release that was sympathetic to the trans community over this event, which I think was somewhat uncalled for, but no sympathy to the actual shooter.
It's due to culture, not race. One of the most violent neighborhoods in the US, which is in Chicago, has a homicide rate of above 1250/100k per year for young males (for reference, Baltimore's is "only" around 50/100k), and about 5% are shot per year.
The lack of a black nuclear family, and in particular having very high percentages of single mothers, causes this. 77% of native-born black births are to single mothers, while 34% of immigrant black births are to single mothers. Of course the group - that's the same race - that values education, has a higher average IQ, and has intact families does better.
And you can't tell me that it's due to 'racism' that most African groups do better than native-born blacks. Nobody thinks it's due to racism that Taiwanese people earn about $25,000 more per year than Chinese people, nor do people think that it's due to 'racism' that Swiss people outearn the Swedish by about $3k per year.
This. Chicago has 50 'mass shootings' per year, and Baltimore and Philly each have around 20. That's 15% of the 'mass shootings' right there - in cities that, when combined, make up under 2% of the population.
Most mass shootings occur in certain zip codes in blue cities. No Republican cities have similar levels of violence.
