if they transfer , let them payback all the $$ the school spent on recruiiting them. Bball and fball coaches are leaving becuase they're tired of having to recruit their own players year after year.

One thing that's been exposed in recent years is that college coaches aren't mentors, aren't working out of the goodness of their hearts, and aren't doing their recruits any favors. They don't deserve the power they have over student athletes. The runners more than earn every penny of those measly partial scholarships.

How is stating facts of what someone has run and what they have publicly posted turn someone into a dick that finds joy in a young woman’s struggles?

Transferring schools to get more playing time is one of the most valid reasons to have a transfer portal. We are talking about D1 athletes who were by definition the most talented high schoolers in their respective sports. If they are at a school where they don’t play much, there is nothing wrong with transferring. People with that level of talent should find a school where they can play if that is what they want to do.

She has a high ceiling. Smart, talented, and attractive. This is just a bump in the road of life. If running doesn't work out she will be fine.

I ran for OSU in the early 1970s and I am from Santa Monica, Ca. A great place for running, good school, and the teammates I met there have been friends for life. We have Zoom calls and multiple reunions with the strong support of Coach Smith. Whatever works for the individual. They’ll continue to have great teams, and are currently working on funding a world class indoor facility.

Funnily enough Three Dog Night played there in Gallagher Hall. Coach Tate allowed us to stay in his office in the dark until the concert began.

While watching her get lapped indoors I thought to myself hm something has gone wrong here. Being presented with this news it's like oh did the coach really increase her mileage and mess everything up? Why even bother with a running coach at such low mileage? Why not see if you can pursue swimming, cycling, or cross country skiing at an elite level and settle for 10x all American while running 3 meets per season?
