Agree. But Henes doesn't train the 400 runner. She trains the distance runner and was there really no one
on the team who could do better than 3:24?
I can think of 3…Tuohy, Chmiel and Bush. We’re talking about 3 68 second quarters. Perhaps even Seymour…Tuohy averaged under 66 second quarters 4 times…
Sure but Tuohy and Bush were running other legs and Chmiel and Seymour earned NC State 18 points in the 5k an hour earlier. Not sure they are options.
Wow! wasn’t aware that they lost 6 seconds on the 400. That would in itself make you uncompetitive. Tuohy shouldn’t have been put into the position of making up what looked like half of a lap. Like Prefontaine, she left it all on the track…and it showed on her face.
Posted this on the other thread but Bush ran the 3rd fastest 800 in the field.
Bush got it done, Shaw is coming back from a lengthy injury and did what she could and improved 2 seconds from less than a week ago. I have no idea who the 400 runner is. 58 is not good. Chapman must have been injured in the pentathlon because she had pretty good marks up until she dropped out.

4:23 on that awfully SLOW banked track is something else
No amount of talent can make up for 2 slow leading legs. She looked dejected…and they should let run the 3K so she can show her stuff without having to carry the whole team!
she loves winning, and if running 4:23 leg is not even enough to challenge for a title, pretty sure she knows whats up
Gregory will have to lead the 3k if she wants 8:54q, no one else needs it.
No Valby in dmr, maybe gators can find a 4:45.
I'm curious how 'bama dmr will run.
I disagree. Valby will lead it, or Olemomoi. When has Valby not run to the front?
agree - if Valby doesnt lead at fast pace she could get 4th in a heartbeat. Gregory is listed in mile as well as 3000, and is also a key piece of their DMR. Something has to give, although ~4 hours between mile heat and dmr, but only 2 between mile final and 3000 - on back to back days seems like a lot.

Bush, but you see how that's a problem
If Mareno had not gotten injured or if Tynnismaa had not run that one race in December for Alabama and had indoor eligibility things would have been different but it is what it is.

or Shaw....or Starliper...3 injuries to the same position.......
