Up Thru 1968 3 HS guys had broken 4:00 for the mile. It was then 33.5 years later ONE other did..don't you think that a bit light..NO other kids did it until Webb in 2001? Thats just a tad under performing as a group, no? Then in the next 21 years 13 guys did? Not even close to one per year? You think that's a lot? I do not, I think as a country of 300M+ for a while now, we should have at least 2-4 per year, just my view. Race sets ups, tracks, shoes..training have all gotten better, no one doubts this, yet another 13 in 21 years? Hardly a cavalcade of guys, really.
