Cook was faster in high school than Tuohy as a freshman. Tuohy is currently faster than Cook. To be fair to Tuohy, injuries hampered her for years after her best performances early on in high school as a frosh-soph. She is the best 5000m runner in the country right now. We'll see how good Cook and Valby are in outdoor track. I expect Valby to break 15, maybe even 14:50.
Tuohy's best year was actually Jr year. Nxn record and historic run at Holmdel etc. in xc. 9:01 3k indoor and the 9:47 2mile outdoor.
Her senior year, where she still completed all 3 seasons at least thru ny states/feds, wasn't by any means terrible, despite battling thru injury. She again won nxn xc, at Penn relays she ran a 4:35 1600 anchor leg on dmr, and she had numorous 9:5x 3200/2miles.
