Much more likely that trump wins the GOP nomination than he does a 3rd party run.
DeSantis really isn't an option - the base will treat him as a turncoat RINO and get very angry at him. And the base votes in primaries. They will choose trump again, every time.
The Rs always fall in line - they don't do the kind of intramural fights the dems do. Rs will all sigh and say 'well it's trump or socialism so we'll go for trump but just one more time.'
Story of America.
Trumpty Dumpty was the headline by the NY Post. People were trying to leave and were barred from doing so during his big announcement speech two nights ago. His biggest donors are pivoting to DeSantis. His own daughter and even Don Jr avoided his speech the other night. He and his chosen candidates are 0 - 3 going back to 2018 now. Iowa and New Hampshire start the caucus/primary season and Trump is already polling behind DeSantis at a 1 to 3 rate. DeSantis is more popular in the most important state in the nation for determining POTUS.
If DeSantis chooses to run, he will get the nomination.
When you say Republicans always fall in line you are correct. ....They will fall in line for DeSantis.
A DeSantis/Youngkin ticket will absolutely crush whatever the Dems bring in 2024. A Trump/whoever ticket guarantees a Dem win
The gop tried has tried to leave trump behind 2-3 times. Each time it failed. I don’t see why this time will be any different. The voters simply want trump and we live in a democracy.

I fear you are correct. I surely want to leave the buffoon behind. Either way, he will go scorched earth, if, in fact, the GOP is pivoting to DeSantis, both in votes and money.
But, again, I implore you to read my last response to you. Do you not care about the real subversion of Democracy, because it’s happening, aided and abetted by the Dems?
Michelle O, despite having zero political or business experience and a background of zealous victimhood and race baiting, is going to be the Democratic nominee and immediate front runner. A total charlatan that you will all get behind
Nearly every Republican politician and donor wants Trump gone, but he still has a loyal and rabid following among a large fraction of Republican primary voters. If the Republican primary field is large and does not winnow very quickly, it’s not going to be hard for Trump to win a plurality of votes state after state and win the nomination. A large and divided field is going to strongly favor Trump. If the contest rapidly evolves into essentially a 2-way contest of DeSantis v Trump, then Trump is going down to electoral defeat, but it will be beyond ugly. Also, we do need to see how DeSantis fairs once he is enemy #1 for Trump. I think he’ll do just fine, but it’s not a lock that he will hold up. Anyway, if Trump is not on track to win the nomination he will do everything he can to destroy the Republicans. I think his candidacy ensures the Dems will win the WH again. If Trump wins the nomination, he’ll get trounced and if he loses the nomination, he’ll do more to ensure the Republican nominee loses than any Democrat will do. It’s a guaranteed murder-suicide. The Republicans should have taken Trump out at impeachment 2. Now, he’s going to wreck them regardless.

J6 was exactly what it seems to be: The jackboot portion of a wide ranging effort by the Republican Party to overthrow the government of the United States and install Trump as leader. The plot had half a dozen prongs and J6 was one of them.
Michelle O has no interest in politics to my knowledge.

I concur completely. But Trump was never the lone, real threat to Democracy.

Ok, we are done here.
We are done here because you simply can’t speak to the real subversion of Democracy per my long response to you? You left wingers are impotent, ignorant, and incapable of mounting a compelling response other than “January 6!”

Yet all the polls show that the voters want Desantis...
it's way too early
only the base shows up for primaries and those people are hardcore m'aga.
people don't know who desantis is yet. Dude is not mr charisma.
people are still ashamed to say they support trump
But look, I hope the gop base has given up on trump, I really do. I'm not one of those guys who wants trump to be the nominee because trump seems beatable. I want two nominees who are fit to serve.
stolen from Flagpole. This will happen again, as it always does. Rs will fall in line behind Trump. after some weak protests and probably some more m'aga violence.
I'd add to Flagpole's list:
McCarthy's pledge to be done with trump after J6....a pledge that lasted maybe 2 weeks.
Not even pence will go full-throated anti-trump. After Trump tried to get pence killed.
1) Donald Trump called Ted Cruz's wife ugly and said his father had something to do with killing JFK, and Cruz kissed his butt. 2) Donald Trump gave the nickname of Little Marco to Marco Rubio, and Cruz kissed is butt. 3) Lindsey Graham initially said he would not vote for Trump and called him "a race baiting, xenophobic religious bigot." Remember that? And then he turned around and kissed his butt.
Trump is a liability. I’ve been warning my friends on the right since 2015. There is and can be no doubt about that. But, forget about the man for a moment.
Was 1/6 the real “insurrection” and attack on Democracy, when security was seriously lax in the first place (Pelosi knew) and the FBI had informants among the Oath Keepers (Wray admitted this by not denouncing it, as well as one of his assistants). Or is the real subversion of Democracy the landbridge w Mexico and the subsequent unfettered access of illegal immigrants (we simply don’t have the manpower the deal with them all) and potent drugs coming across the border that are killing our kids? Is the real subversion of Democracy all the tech giants at Facebook, Insta, and TikTok (massive Chinese undermining of our kids along with the precursors to fentanyl they ship to Mexico) that do nothing to thwart the harm to our kids, a generation that has already been set back substantially because of the ridiculous Covid school shutdowns? Is the real subversion of Democracy the lack of credible voting ID and in person voting with the “purple fingers” that could be easily implemented and shut EVERYONE up as long as we allowed three full days for the voting? Is the real subversion of Democracy this ridiculous preoccupation with pronouns and “rights” that aren’t even rights according to the law.
Is it possible that 1/6 was merely grand political theatre massively exploited by the left to further their anti-Trump agenda? Don’t get me wrong, I will never, ever vote for the reckless narcissist, but the fact that you all ruminate endlessly about his failings and are preoccupied with your hatred for him does absolutely nothing to compel those of us who can see through the charade to come to your “side.” Of course, uninformed liberals generally vote only on emotion and propaganda, so it doesn’t matter anyway. If you deny that there’s another subversion of Democracy going on, which is the only way a Trump ever got elected in the first place, then you are an utterly disingenuous or ill-informed voter.

can you make a one or two sentence post that I could respond to? I;m in the mood for an argument but not if I have to respond to a long rambling paragraph.

It would be heaven to have a race like DeWine vs Cooper. No chance, I’m afraid.
The hallmarks of narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) are grandiosity, a lack of empathy for other people, and a need for admiration. People with this condition are frequently described as arrogant, self-centered, manipulative, and demanding. They may also have grandiose fantasies and may be convinced that they deserve special treatment. These characteristics typically begin in early adulthood and must be consistently evident in multiple contexts, such as at work and in relationships.
People with NPD often try to associate with other people they believe are unique or gifted in some way, which can enhance their own self-esteem. They tend to seek excessive admiration and attention and have difficulty tolerating criticism or defeat. Although NPD is a difficult disorder to treat, therapy can help those with the condition develop their sense of self and their relationships.
NPD refers to the diagnosable mental disorder, while the term "narcissism" is a trait that ranges in degree from person to person.
There are fewer than 200,000 people diagnosed with NPD in the United States. Personality disorders are diagnosed by an endless round of personality testing (6 hours, at a minimum), usually the Minnesota Multi-Phasic Personality Inventory.
Everybody has flaws in their personality; political leaders have these flaws magnified and placed under a microscope. Trait overlap is not a diagnosis; almost every CEO has personality traits that overlap with psychopathy. Are most CEO's psychopaths? Most people would say "yes." But see above...
Adult in the room I could take the time to provide articles, facts and reasoning to support my claims but unfortunately I have a job and am at work and I can’t sh!t post here all day. So have a nice day you fvcking loser.

His argument was a false choice of the form "Was 1/6 an insurrection or was 'something else' an insurrection?". Whether or not 'something else' is an insurrection is not relevant to the first part.
