Not getting into the 'other' debate. Getting back to the data - what are the chances all these runners (save Valby) are PRing by like 50- 70 seconds on a full 6k course in the same race? ALL of them? The Apalachee course where Mercy set her PR was supposedly a fast race already.
6k PR's today, top finishers:
SEC course (new PR today) / Old 6k XC PR Valby: 18:25 / 18:58 (5.96-7 K - course 30-40 meters short, per coach) Chelangat: 18:33 / 19:29 Olemomoi: 18:54 / 19:40 (5.85k) Van Camp: 19:05 / 19:54.7 Tyynisma: 19:06 / 20:10 Bockrath: 19:19 / 20:21
All top 6 runners had massive 6k XC PR's ... I did not bother checking further. Maybe I will when I have more time.
Does not mean that the order would have changed. I don't even think Valby was going all out at the end. But, this points to a short course or something (splits off?).
I noticed this as well...either the course was completely flat and firm, or their was an issue with distance. Virtually every runner that ran Nutty was 1 min faster, and had massive PBs.
When I hear the word "sensational" to describe a performance that suggests it is both unexpected and off-the-charts. Is that what is being claimed here or are some fans just getting a little over-excited?

The course might no be 6k so throw the final times out of the window if you want, but regardless of distance beating a runner like HIlda Olemomoi by 30 seconds is pretty damn impressive. Beat Isabel Van Camp who was 8th at the 5k at outdoors last year by 40 seconds.
So this time cant be compared to the other times today it still tells a lot about Valby's relative fitness

Overall times aside (let’s not even look at those).
Valby is FAST…
In this race, she defeated Chelangat by 8 seconds (regardless of the overall times).
Tuohy defeated Chelangat by 12 seconds (in a 5k).
Imagine visually a race with Chelangat in the race. Now visualize Valby 8 seconds of her. Makes sense, right?
Now picture Tuohy 4 seconds ahead of Valby. Makes sense.

It was perfect, almost completely flat, firm pretty short grass surface, 55 F ish, low humidity.
Just say that you think she's doping you insufferable coward.
astro has been a coward for years. keep calling him out for his accusations with zero evidence because they all (coincidently) come down to any athlete that has a shot at beating Tuohy. Tuohy doesnt want his libelous help to win races. shes a fantastic athlete who is doing just fine all by herself. so unless he has tangible and verifiable evidence of the things he likes to float rumors about then he does her no favors. he should be banned as a troll for trying to purposefully effect the playing field of an NCAA sporting contest because of his predispositions for one athlete.

But was it also unexpected, as the word "sensational" suggests?
Hmmm, the times might make headlines, but I doubt the athletes are too thrilled with a short course, either.
Does the course have a history? Will the course get remeasured (and/ changed) in the future?
I don't know, that is a good question. It's not great for the runners to set a crazy PR that isn't real. If every runner had a PR maybe it was set up differently today or something.
Ryann Helmers, a top runner for Ole Miss, also had a huge PR today
Cool. Now I did not say Valby is doping. Her gap with Mercy is normal and expected. I did say and stand by that a college runner who can run 14:50 at 20 after her sudden prs the season before would be doping, but that turned out to be a false alarm. And I most certainly dislike the coach's ties to Schumacher/BTC. Sorry but that affects how skeptically I will view a protege of this coach.
Anyway when I voice suspicions they are typically informed. Here the star athlete of a Schumacher acolyte has had a huge breakout. Don't blame me for raising a concern. I'm not the one who was with Schumacher (he of the very passionate Houlihan defense) from college through the pros.
Btw, what is your take on Huntington Univ? Curious to know.
I saw you incessantly voice suspicion on another thread about Parker Valby. This young lady deserves better. You were suspecting drug use solely on her performance and possibly your worship of Tuohy. Now she has a performance that you deem less suspicious and so now you change your tune? You and Armstronglivs are soul mates, and neither of you appears to have a soul, and I speak here metaphorically. You two are disgusting.
