Just be honest that you are hoping for a republican sweep. Real journalists don't say things like this.
The republicans will likely win the House. Senate? Who knows. Of course Biden can still veto anything so they will not be able to ramrod a super conservative agenda through. That is a good thing and more Americans should understand that having House, Senate and President of the same party (either party) is very dangerous. Not only does it lead to 50% of the country being unrepresented, it leads to partisan judges undermining the long term prospects of the other party - ie. getting power and holding it without elections getting in the way.
The real danger here is the undermining of democracy. Republicans are now constantly pushing for gerrymandering, partisan judges and spouting lies about election fraud. A better strategy might be getting candidates that would appeal to more than 50% of the population. But instead, their new strategy is is this.
I am a very conservative person in general and used to vote for the most reasonable candidate from either party. But the republican party no longer represents conservative people. They proudly represent right wing extremists, praising the proud boys, oath keepers, Putin and Orban, encouraging violence. I was hoping that once Trump left office they would come back from the insanity, but it has only gotten worse.
