She was happy to win the heat but then looked shocked when she saw the clock.
So what happened to all the false starts we saw from the first few days? It's like they tweaked the timing system to fix the issue with reaction times and somehow went too far.

I hear often athletes saying that when they run fast times that they don't even feel like they ran that fast.

I am not surprised at the fast times. This event is very deep and is open to about 6-7 women winning it all, all the women knew they had to bring their A game. Keni’s 12.27 brought out the 12.12. The final is still open to about 4 women winning it. This event deserved more coverage.
And thus the excitement builds…. How many ‘faux pas’ today by Leigh Diffey and the NBC production team.
Just reflect on Sydney’s great race when as the race starts Diffey exclaims… “here we go the women’s 4 x 400m hurdles… say what!
For the introduction of the women’s 5000m, Sifan Hassan and Guedey are introduced with no mention of the other favorite, Tsegay… and would you believe it Tsegay wins the race.
Go back to the women’s 10,000m and they go to a long commercial in the last mile only to return to the race at the bell lap…. What a blunder.
in the women’s 1500 only Kipyegon was introduced at the start. And Sinclair Johnson, the US champion, got not even one mention during the race.
Carly Simon recorded “Nobody does it Better” and it sure wasn’t with NBC and Leigh Diffey in mind.
it would be interesting to learn of Seb Coe’s views on the NBC production.
Finally, yesterday Diffey opened the NBC viewing with how difficult it was to get a seat… then the camera spun round to show hundreds of empty seats!

Tangent pet peeve, but why are all announcers pronouncing her last name as "Mo", and not Mu (Moo)? What's the proper way to say her name?
It's pronounced like Mo. There's a helpful pronunciation guide for her name next to her Instagram handle, but people still seem to her first name too. (It's uh-thing, not ah-thing.)
Obviously, PEDs (obligatory caveat to acknowledge most are probably dirty) but I think this week has only solidified my opinion that the main hurdle to beating some of the long standing WRs, are more likely to do with the old school timing equipment.
Realistically, how accurate is that 800m WR from 1951.

I admire his youthful bravado. Let him be a 21 year old. I'd be shatting myself if I was in his position. For him, this is his job. He clearly enjoys it. I enjoy it.
