You are WRONG. You are so wrong that if you were right about the splits it would make Lyles time SLOWER.
Lyles BARELY got the baton within the exchange zone, meaning he actually held the baton for less than 100m. According to your logic, if splits are calculated on handoff then Lyles 95m split is SLOWER than Blake's 105m split.
Okay so what’s your relay team since you obviously wouldn’t put Lyles there? What order and what runners? Just curious.
5 downvotes but nobody can tell me who they would replace Lyles with and the order?
Here, I’ll give mine. Let Bracy run the 2nd leg. He has quicker acceleration and probably doesn’t get ran up on like Lyles. Let Lyles run the anchor an allow him to utilize his strength which is closing just like De Grasse.
Deno, I'm shocked that someone who purports to be such an expert on sprinting can not see how Lyles screwed up. Did Coleman run right up on him? Yes. Did Lyles get out quickly? No. He might have run quickly after he got the baton but the stick needs to be moving quickly the whole time. Coleman did his job, Lyles didnt do his job.
You must be a clueless coach, the best leg and best exchange for the Americans were Lyles'.The problem was the lineup,Brady had no business running anchor and Hall had no business being on the track. The prelims should have clued the Coaches that Hall and Brady can't execute the exchange. Lyles is the best American sprinter and the best finisher in the world, should have been on anchor.
And if you want to quibble and say Kerley is America's best, well in a race I'll put my money on Lyles.

You are asking the wrong question. Why did Lyles run like crap? Lyles was more than capable of running well but he didn't. That relay with those members in that order should have easily won gold. But Lyles blew it.

I meant Bracy.
Coleman ran right up on Lyles which meant that Lyles screwed up. The order may or may not have been a mistake, I'm not discussing the order. Whether he should have been on the anchor or not is a different story. But Lyles screwed up, he didn't get out as any jr high runner could see. He either went out too slow or he took off too late. It's simple. Yes his pass was good, but his big mistake was already made.
Wrong… the steiner leg, the steiner- prandini exchange, and the prandini leg is what allowed the US to give TT just enough cushion to hold off Jackson.
